Amusement Today announces the 2000 Golden Ticket Award recipients. Among the winners are Cedar Point for best park, best capacity and the two top steel coasters, Magnum and Millennium Force. Best wood coaster goes to The Raven at Holiday World. See all the winners on the Amuesement Today's website.

I tihnk these awards are kind of screwed up!!! :)
Those guys are really wussies. Those awards are so off. By far the bumpiest, shakiest, most unpredictable ride is the Twister 2 at SFEG. Those guys can't even put Mill Force in number 1!! I mean magnum was ok. but millennium force diserved to be number 1. And what the heck is Raven doing at number one on the wooden list? The best woodie is Son of Beast and that isn't even on the top 25. Those guys should really rethink their awards and get them straight next year.
Plus deuling dragons rocked! Best inverted i've ever been on.
who rates these rides!!? they must be wearing a blindfold with a chicken up their ass. IF u even bothered going to six flags elitch gardens, u would relize that the Twister 2 is by far the roughest ride.I think u should have went to ALL the parks. good day to u

Im sorry. I love the Beast and I believe that it is better than Raven.
has anyone rode stealth? its about 1000 miles away from me and i really want to ride it, so how is it?
thanks for the back up Mforce
see Mforce is backing me up all the way. i'm sure flamebuckets375 would have too if he wasn't booted by Jeff...
I don't think that they are too far off. You cannot only look at speed or intensity to determine what a good ride is. I think that the Raven being number one shows that big stats do not necessarily make for a good ride. You should also consider the surroundings of the ride. The longer a ride has been around, the more people will ride it. MF making to 2 in its first year shows that it will probably be 1 in a year or two and Magnum will slowly slide away into oblivion.
Incidentally, Magnum did not start the airtime craze. That started shortly after John Miller invented the upstop wheel. It did however resurrect it and brought it to the steel coasters.
