2000 Golden Ticket Awards announced

These polls always crack me up. They might as well look like this:

1)Magnum
2)MF
3)Mantis
4)Raptor
5)Magnum
6)MF

"Ok now let's throw in a couple of other park's rides so it won't look so bad"!

Its probably because of the Magnum wheels. When I rode it in May, it was as rough as the Mean Streak, but when I rode it in July it wasnt as smooth as when it first opened but it was a 100percent turnaround from my last lap on it. I still love the Magnum for what it has to offer, besides if it wasnt for the Magnum, this "Airtime" craze wouldnt have started, IMO.

Riddler's Revenge got robbed. How could that ride not even make the top 25. This is one of the best steel coasters in the country. The best Stand Up IMOP.

First of all how can anyone say Dueling Dragons is worst then SLC's that's harsh way harsh. I have seen the dragons on many top ten lists(including mine!). Im glad to see Kumba hanging in there, I still think its one of the best coasters out there. Mean Streak that high and beating Villian? Very weird. Some rides were robbed like Boss and Riddler's Revenge(Mantis better than RR).

Where's SOB! I knew it would blow up in kings islands face!!!What a laugh

I agree with GRL and nick g on Magnum. Too bad I never got to ride it in it's day. I did get some air time but it was surely painful. It would be nice if they would change the restraints. The new B&M (Raging Bull/Batman Knight Flight) or Intamin (Millennium Force/Supreman:Ride of Steel) restraints are so much better than those crappy Arrow ones.

Who cares? It's one persons opinion as Jeff would say. And if one person can constantly bash the same coaster, so can the rest of us.

I just want to know why the CI Cyclone is 11!!!!?
Besides that I think it's great. Cedar Point does deserve best park.

If you ride Magnum multible times and Millennium Force Multible times you will realize Magnum truly is the better and the best.

I think they should get some coaster fanatics (experts) with open minds to go around and ride the certain nominated coasters and have them pick. And for all of you crackin on CP's coasters I hope you have ridden them before you say they are no good. And your saying it's because CP does lots of advertising!?? The Great Britain Roller Coaster club picks CP as #1 for like the last 10 years. Do you think CP advertises over there??? Even if it was because of advertising, then why don't other parks do it. There is no way CP has the most money with all these huge chains like six flags and paramount.

Well, your right about that. People from all over the world know about CP. The voting seems to start at CP, then work it's way out to the rest of the parks around the country. Nothing wrong with that. But keep in mind folks that the ONLY poll that matters, is YOURS.

Magnum XL 200, SOB was not one of the coasters that was surveyed because it wasn't out long enough.

Yes it was... it opened BEFORE Millennium Force did. It didn't stay open, but certainly people got to ride it before the July deadline.

The Golden Ticket Awards are not going to please everyone. Everyone has there opinon. Maybe this site should make our own Coaster Buzz awards or something. To see what the people on this sight think and you will see how much it differs from the Golden Ticket Awards. WE may be more correct in each others opinon. The Magnum XL-200 deserves recognition it started the air time craze which roller coaster has the most air time. That's what some people look for. Some look for speed. Some look for heights. Some look for inversions. NO list is ever going to be correct in everyone's mind. The Golden Ticket Awards may not please anyone but at least they gave it a fair shot. It's just one out of many groups opinon on THE BEST ROLLER COASTERS IN THE WORLD. There are many others.

I was suprised not to see Hersheypark in the best park category. Well, maybe it was in the top 10. I agree Magnum was rough in the tunnels going back to the station. My thighs took a beating on two of my rides as I banged into the lapbar. I also agree that Mean Streak is pretty bad. The trimbrake on the first drop sets the slow pace throughout. Big wooden coasters are not better. The lack of coasters by GCI (there's only one listed-Wildcat) suprised me also.
