The perceived marketability of a new coaster drives a lot of the decision making Rick. They want to add as many superlatives to their park as they can afford.
It just so happens that after Yukon Striker, you're only 50 feet away from entering into Giga territory. At that point, why not go for that extra height at a park with no Giga coasters?
This will work especially well in Texas, but arguably wasn't necessary at Canada's Wonderland.
