Before I start my rant, I would like to make some postive comments first. SFWoA has some excellent rides in S:UE, Villian and BKF. ALso, the Sea World side is very nice. Also, Kudo's to the employees in the Rockville area who had to work in an unusually difficult environment.
Now let the rant begin:
My story actually begins at 10:00 PM the night before when I pulled in to Six Flags Silverhorn campgrounds. When I went to register I accidentally allowed a moth to fly in. I wasn't aware that I wasn't supposed to allow moths to fly into the camps main office. Thanks to the moth I was treated to an employee running around the registration desk carrying on about how scared of moths she was and nothing could get done until the moth was removed. Next came parking in my lot. When I made reservations 6 weeks ago I had informed them that I had an RV. Therefore, I was surprised to find that they had placed my in a lot in which my RV wouldn't fit. THere was a small tree at the end of the blocks so I could not back up all the way and my front end stuck out in the road all night. I have what is considered a small RV so I was quite surprised. Then I went to take a shower. The showers are too small, they have no bench to place your clothes on so you have to place them on a muddy floor and only three of the showers had shower heads. I had to use the one that didn't have a shower head. Then the next morning, without warning, the electricity went out, leaving everyone in the park without electricity. I paid $45 + tax for this?
On to the park. Actually, things started out well, waits for rides were small, except for X-Flight which was only running one partial train. However, I blame Vekoma and not SFWoA for this problem, as SFA seems to be having similar problems with Batwing. I made the big mistake of riding the Log Flume. Apparently the ride ops were having some king of problems today because they were only using about six boats and it took 45 minutes to finally get a ride. The water on the ride was a lovely shade of brown. I don't understand why the water was so dirty. Other parks, PKI comes to mind seem to be able to keep the water clean. However, we rode some more rides and life was better.
We then went to the Sea world side and for $38.00 we all had lunch. The Batman ski show was fun.
The problems began when we return to the rides section of the park. We noticed that BKF and RWB weren't running and that a large crowd of people were heading out the door and there was a crowd at the guest relations desk. I asked what was wrong and I was informed that Aurora had lost power and that 1/3 of the park was down. Fortunatly Hurrican Harbor was still operating so we went there. On the way, my wife had to use the bathroom and so did my nephew. Here I encountered the nastiest sight I have ever seen in a bathroom. All the toilets were backed up and overflowing. My wife reported the same in the women's bathroom. To make matters worse flowing through rockville, next to El Dorado, was a stream of sewage that smelled so bad that people were becoming ill from it. Around 6:30 my family had enough of the park and decided to go home. I spoke with guest relations, and was told that the power had just come back on and that the rides would be starting again soon. My youngest daughter and I decided to try to ride BKF. Soon after we got in line for BKF the ride started to cycle through without riders, then eventually, people were able to start riding again. After waiting for 1/2 hour I was violently thrown against the railing by a man who felt he was too important to wait in line like everyone else. Apparently, the guests of this park have decided to take line jumping to new heights.
Overall I had quite a negative experience at this park.
