Nickelodeon Universe at American Dream mall sells out first weekend

I may sneak up to this on a weekend in February. Takabisha was a surprise hit when I rode it and the two other coasters here look fun.

Looks like another case of Gold Passes being underpriced.

You think they would have seen the debacle that the passes caused at CP the past few weekends and would have adjusted their pricing accordingly. I just hope that the road infrastructure has enough round abouts to handle the impending traffic!

The Today show recently had a segment on the American Dream. The ski slope opened this week, adding to the amusement park and ice rink which both opened in October. As far as I know the two Intamin coasters are not open yet, but most other rides are finally running. Reports are that attendance has been very light most days.

I've wanted to ride Takabisha since I first became aware of its existence so this will save me the expense of a trip to Japan.

If all you’re going to Japan for is a ride on Takabisha (a great coaster, by the way), and now that there’s a clone you’re not interested, then you’re doing travel wrong.

Very, very wrong.

I went to Nickelodeon Universe on Black Friday during "twilight hours", and I walked right on Shellraiser (the Takabisha clone). I sat in the front right seat, and it was excellent despite a bit of a rattle. I loved the heartline roll, the launch, and "steepest drop in the world!"

Shredder is ok, but longer than it needs to be.

Slime Streak is a fun family coaster and worth a ride.

The park wasn't very busy for a Friday night, but it was Black Friday and none of the stores at American Dream are open yet. Full price is too high for what they have to offer, especially when I have a six flags membership, but the twilight price isn't bad, and I can't see needing to spend more than three hours in the park. Hopefully they will offer pay by ride tickets in the future.

This may come as a surprise to you, but there are actually other reasons to visit Japan.

Ultra Twister!

No no no no no no no no!!!!!

Not a fan of Ultra Twister? I loved my one and only ride on the model at Astroworld the weekend of its closure.

I rode it a few times at AW and didn't like it. It was clunky, (In a Demon Drop sort of way,) headbangy, (In an Arrow looper sort of way,) claustrophobic, and spent too much time going backwards.

I missed the opportunity to ride a closed Ultra Twister in New Jersey, I had to go to Japan.

I missed the opportunity to ride a closed Takabisha in Japan, I guess I'll have to go back to New Jersey...

Kstr 737- That probably worked out for you though... I hear TOGO coasters are better in Japan.

How did you get to Japan on a 737? ;)
