Wildcat at Hp vs. Roar East

Which is the preferred coaster of these 2 GCI wooden
twisters?

I would say the Wildcat. Roar is also a very good ride, but just doesn't have a lot of air time. Wildcat would probley be the perfect coaster if it was a bit taller.

Wildcat is and always will be an awesome ride.
I think Lightning Racer is great but Wildcat will always be my fav.Gci only gets better and better..where is Roar anyhow??Roar who???

Roar East is at SFA. And it does have a decent amount of airtime, it just depends on where you sit.

HP WC and Roar are similar in that regard. Both offer little if any air in the back, but awesome laterals and pacing. Both offer good air in rows one and two, but not the same laterals or pacing as in the back seat. I prefer HP WC a little over Roar.

I always ride my woodies in the back and especially Wildcat.Massive airtime..always.

KMAN: I must disagree. To me, Roar-east is almost a waste of time if you dont sit in the last (or next to last car). I mean it's pretty to look from the front but as far as airtime minimal at best. In the back though, the ride is decent, not great, but decent. I've never been to HP. In fact, before last year, I had never even heard of it.....

We rode Wildcat for the first time last Friday and besides the fact that it may be my favorite woodie next to Beast, the airtime and pacing is incredible. We rode it in the front and back and found that the second seat from the front offered the greatest air. The back gave me a cranium bruise (and I loved it!). Great laterals back there. After 6 laps, we recommend the 2nd seat.

In comparing the two costers, I give the nod to ROAR. The Wildcat does have slightlu better pacing and it makes better use of its suroundings by going almost into the hillside, but ROAR is a much more rerideable coaster. Wildcat has gotten extremly rough this year, almost as rough in the back seat as the Coney Island Cyclone(those who have ridden it know what I mean). Roar is much smother, and it still has the rattle and bang of a wooden coaster. It also has some good air time at a few points from the front seat, and some great airtime at many pionts in the back seat.

Wildone..are we referring to the Wildcat at Hershey???Theres no hillside..its a complete open area of the park.They are supposed to be getting a new coaster in 2001-02.They would have to stick with the family theme and they wont put anything in too extreme.

I don't know if I would call Wildcat rough. We rode it in 5 different seats and it was one of the smoothest woodies I have ridden.

Woody I'm glad you took my advice on riding in the Wildcat in the second seat. Tons of air there.
Next year you will have to try The Phoenix at Knoebels in 1-3. :)

The hillside I am refering to is at the bottom of turnaround closest to the station when the train is relly close to the ground, there is a small hill there. And, when I went(5/16 or there abouts) the ride was almost painful in the back seat. My head was hurting for awhile after the ride and it did not do that when I rode last yer on Labor Day weekend. *** This post was edited by WildOne on 7/30/2000. ***
