Didn’t mean to “up vote” that^
I don’t like the pay to skip programs (or included programs like Disney’s FP) because they cause the stand by line to grind to a halt. It’s better, overall, if a ride has just one line. Take at Pirates @ Magic Kingdom- when FP is down for whatever reason, the line averages 20 mins. Once FP comes back up, though, the stand by line baloons to 45+ mins.
Then get a Fastpass. Seriously, free VQ programs like Disney's favor the well informed and experienced, so I can't imagine how anyone on a coaster forum can't make it work positively for them. Even pay VQ programs are basically designed specifically for people like us who value an extra couple rides more than a couple Hamiltons. I suppose the case could be made that pay VQ systems decrease the advantage of getting to the park early, good planning, and experience, but at this stage of my life, the $50 is definitely a steal to not have to worry about all that nonsense.

I always envisioned a queue like the seats in Haunted Mansion at Disney, just sit and chill until you are at the ride. It is a large investment for the park but would make the time spent in line much more enjoyable.
Or you know, just go full virtual queue, but unless the park was designed for that, the pathways and common spaces could become very congested.
