The difference between this forum site and others.

This has been a long time coming from me and I feel its about time I spill my guts. I dont claim to be a coaster in-the-know genius or a behind the scenes person that thinks he knows it all. I consider myself a coaster enthusiast based on the fact that I like the experience of riding as many scream machines that I can get on. Unfortunately I only have 37 coasters under my belt but since I was 5 I have graciously enjoyed every moment of the coasters I have been on. I discovered this site through Yahoo and this is the first forum based coaster site that I became a member on. At first when I became a regular here I noticed alot of flaming to others based on there opinions and I myself have been guilty of that. Fast forward to today. Jeff has made great strides in keeping this forum a clean,productive, well educated site to which I have complied to respect others because I respect the industry this site promotes and realizing it is just entertainment. 2hostyl will agree with me on this one to another forum site where a certain individual stated he was dissapointed on his visit at CP. Guess what happened after that? This person was getting responses like, "You are dumb", "You obviously have never been there", "You just want to start an argument", "You are just stating lies", and various curse words. I must say that this site has rid of the riff-raff that makes childish responses to others opinions. Coasterbuzz in my opinion has become a forum where pretty much everybody that is a member respects others opinions and for that I thankyou.

it's also one of the easiest to read and fastest loading sites I've been too. Important for my old slow computer.

Chitown, I know the thread in which you are talking about. I agree, other forum sites do seem all too caught up in the "my park is better than your park" routine. Props to Jeff for having a great forum section.

After all, this is a family site!

ChiTown aint that the truth. I remember one time on that "other" forum, you said something slightly disparaging about CP and it angered someone so much, that they tried to copy your login and contradict your original point (LOL). Anyway, Jeff, the thing that I like most about this forum is the layout. I love being able to have the entire string of comments on the same page; so i am able to scroll up and down instead of having to point and click and wait for the page to reload. Keep up the good work, we appreciate it!

Its not GTTP.

The reason I like the site is because

1. Almost everyday there is something new to look at or read.
2. It is clean and easy to use.
3. It seems that ALMOST everyone seems to very friendly.
4.Education. This site is so education.
Great job Jeff. You make the greatest sites. Thanks for the great site.

Thanks for the kinds words, guys, and thanks Scott for being one of the first members and for sticking around.

My only rule is that no one can be a bigger jerk than me. ;) Seriously though, really moderating a site as we do makes a huge difference. I know some people get offended when we delete posts or close threads, but we do it to keep things moving and keep you coming back. If the same old thing is here every day (a chronic problem on Guide to The Point), there's little reason for people to return.

Even then, the site's model is to act as a facilitator of information, not a resource to create its own content (though I will always add photo features as I visit new parks). The site thrives because you contribute your sites, news and rumor items, as well as additional parks and coasters not in the database.

This site can't exist without you, so I thank you for making it what it is!
