State requires changes to Idlewild roller coaster after boy falls out of it

A report released Monday indicates that a 3-year-old boy who was thrown from an Idlewild Park & SoakZone wooden roller coaster was improperly seated in the car and that ride operators didn't notice. The state has a number of requirements before it will inspect and clear the ride.

He's another article. Says they switched seats after they loaded and the operators did not catch it. Also plans are to replace the trains with PTC cars with seat belts. Too bad, I liked the throw back feel of riding in the old cars, but they have to do something to prevent if from happening again.

I still find it pretty hard to believe that people could change seats in the station and neither operator would notice...it's not a huge station or a long train. Seems amazingly inattentive to me...

I have never seen the station but if its your normal coaster station setup and the operators check the train from front to back, you can easily do just about anything in the time it takes for the operators to walk back to the front of the station before the train is dispatched.
