The Sky Cabin at Knott's Berry Farm became stuck 148 feet up with 21 people, including seven children, onboard, according to the Orange County Fire Authority. Fire crews opted to use a rope and harness system to lower each passenger one-by-one.

I had the misfortune of being stuck at the top of the tower ride at six flags ohio. We were stuck up there for about 30 mins and the only thing that bothered me was they couldn't stop the thing from revolving. When they finally got us down we didn't Even get an apology or anything.

At the risk of being the first "asshole of 2017" award winner, this is what I point to when the "autism and ride access" stuff starts. Parents demanding immediate access because their charge can't handle long lines/wait times/unplanned situations, become a danger to themselves and the first responder in case of an evac like this. We often forget that in some situations, the only way out/down is something unique like this.
