A Prince George’s County judge ordered Six Flags America to pay $10,000 to each of Benitez’s family members stuck on Joker's Jinx, totaling $60,000 in damages. The lawsuit is part of a set of legal actions against Six Flags since the dramatic 2014 rescue made national and international headlines.

$10,000 per person seems about right to compensate for having to spend several hours at Six Flags America.

$2k/hr to be stuck on a rollercoaster?!? Sign me up! That's just ridiculous. Six Flags should've blamed their drop in revenue (or whatever it was) on frivolous lawsuits.

But then again, what do I know?

After about 2½ hours of intermittent communication with riders through a bullhorn, the park staff called the fire department for assistance, Helfand said.

Is there any good reason it took that long to call the fire department? Did it take 2.5 hours to determine they wouldn't be able to safely nudge the train?

I think I deserve $10,000 just for completing one ride on Time Warp at Canada's Wonderland.

I call Cedar Point my home park even though I live in the Chicago Suburbs.

If these things were proportional, I should've been paid $14,000 for getting stuck on Shoot the Rapids many times...

Hey, let's ride (random Intamin coaster). What? It's broken down? I totally didn't expect that.

^^except on STR, I can almost guarantee you had an associate out there attending to your boat the whole time. That was one of the most difficult part of working that ride, keeping guests entertained during a shut down.
