I was recently thinking about Mean Streak being torn down and what the future holds for that plot of land at Cedar Point. Now I'm not saying that they are RMCing Mean Streak I just think that would be the best move for Cedar Point to pull. Now obviously they would have to build it from the ground up but that wouldn't be too much of a problem, I honestly think it would give them more to options to work with. They could also just completely scrap the idea of a Mean Streak RMC and they could just make a totally new coaster similar to what Six Flags Great America did with Goliath and what Silver Dollar City did with Outlaw Run. However I want to hear your thoughts on it and what you think CP should get in 2018.
I have to imagine that reusing the structure from Mean Streak saves a lot of money compared to rebuilding from the ground up (though RCDB lists Outlaw Run as $10M which seems really low). Also, I'm pretty sure that whatever RMC is going to do has been booked and carved in stone for more than a year. It's not like they can completely change directions at this point in the game.
Finally, does the topic title have anything to do with your post?
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
I'd love something in Gwazi's spot, if only because that corner of BGT just feels really, really dead. It is quite a long walk from the front gate around to Sheikra, unless you're super into kangaroos or kid's rides. However with Gwazi just sitting there that long, not being maintained, something just tells me BGT isn't going to do it. Could be wrong, not basing that on anything but speculation.
I'd personally love to see Kennywood finally pull the trigger on the new woodie that's been rumored since basically the mid-90's, although I feel like a GCI would make just as much sense as an RMC for them. Not going to hold my breath though.
Isn't The Hurler at Kings Dominion rumored to get the RMC treatment? That would be interesting, especially being a highly cloned coaster. Would that mean that other Hurler rides would be candidates?

Darien Lake. I've been saying for a few years now that Predator is a prime candidate for a Topper Track restoration. Wouldn't even need to alter the layout much. Retracked with topper Track and some decent trains, it would be a really fun ride again! There were rumors of a full RMC remake into Lake Monster a few years back when Herschend was running the show (right around the opening of Outlaw Run at SDC) but that idea seems to have died when Herschend left. And it turns out, according to RMC's website, they did some retracting of Predator at some point. Unfortunately, it didn't help.
But then again, what do I know?
