Wichita attorney Greg Kite – on behalf of Joyland owner Margaret Nelson Spear – filed a civil breach-of-contract lawsuit Wednesday in Sedgwick County District Court. The suit claims ex-Joyland employee Damian Mayes did not pay off the money he owes after agreeing to purchase the Wurlitzer Style 160 “Mammoth” Military Band organ nearly six years ago. Mayes is serving a prison sentence for aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated criminal sodomy.

This Damian Mayes fellow sounds like a truly upstanding, all-around swell guy.

Since he's in jail for committing a sex crime, just be glad he was unable to purchase a "mammoth" organ...

I don't see how this suit is going to do anything since the guy is in prison. Even with this civil case, they can't get any money out of him at all.

Why can't they? If he has the thing stored somewhere (admittedly i didnt read the article), then they can have a judgement to have it returned. And who knows, he may have money somewhere. His being in prison doesn't stop them from claiming that if they win.

I think they want to repossess it right?
