Phoenix vs Comet...an opinion

Woodie lovers who know Phoenix at Knoebel's Grove and Comet at Great Escape, read on. If this reads a bit like a TR, sorry. It isn't meant to be.
It is never fair to pit one great coaster against another, but I can finally compare these two and IMO the ride on Phoenix takes the prize. Comet has a couple of places with better laterals, but Phoenix has much better airtime.
On June 10 I took my first ever rides on Comet, front, back, all over, both trains, about 10 rides. Red train, rear was the best seat that day.
I visited Knoebel's this past Tuesday 6/26. Took five rides on Phoenix, a refresher as I have ridden Phoenix in the past, but not since 7/1999. Orange train (1 train running), took the five rides in seat 1-3, the "ejector seat." And let me tell you I would have been ejected if not for the lapbar!
Interesting to note there are no seat belts on Phoenix (why had I not noticed that in my earlier visits?). No seatbelts on Twister, either.
Oh, yeah, of course, how could I forget, I got my first ever rides on Twister and...well, uh, um, er...that's a different story (gee, it sure has a lot of WOOD!)...

I know you rider Gonna miss me when I'm gone
The Phoenix is awesome, airtime on every hill, yet not in the slightest painful or rough.

The Comet did have two good points of laterals, and a nice layout, but aside from that I didn't find it thrilling - very little air.

Both have a history, but if you want the Crystal Beach Cyclone, the closest thing I've been on is the Riverside Cyclone at SFNE.

The Phoenix wins hands down!
