Universal Orlando has announced Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon at Universal Studios Florida. The ride will replace Twister, which closes November 2. The attraction vaguely promises a "Tonight Show experience" around New York City.

The great thing about simulators is they can be easily re-purposed when the next flavor of the week comes along.
I have to beg to differ a bit, though: Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are leagues beyond just movie-based simulators.

Agreed on both points, except for "great thing" which depends on your perspective. The HP experiences are innovative. Beyond that it's a fairly standard template as of late. This isn't a knock on Universal, just a reaction to the emerging pattern. It's obviously working for them. And Universal isn't claiming innovation; I doubt they would disagree. Someone could say the same about parks that build coaster after coaster after coaster.
I applaud them for doing what works. For the sake of my personal wish list, I just find innovation more interesting (before you flame me, this is my personal fantasy and not a fact or a demand. Universal owes me nothing and I am free to not go there or just ignore them. I'll also add the disclaimer that this ride doesn't exist yet and I haven't been on it. Relax before you jump on me).
Their new water park sounds interesting.
I had to look at the post date, as I was wondering if it was April 1st!
I'm sorry to say this is got to be the stupidest thing I've heard of! Why the f would I want to make a trip to a park to go on a new ride themed after a late night talk show?

I think it's a pretty good idea, actually. A Tonight Show-based race through New York fits right in in the park's New York section, leverages a popular NBCUniversal-owned show and fits the "ride the movies/TV shows" schtick. Not my cup of tea, but I think it will work.

I like Jimmy. He has a quality about him that makes him seem like someone you just want to hang out with. I imagine it's that spirit that enables him to get so many of his guests to do silly games and things. He is what he offers and that's just a goofy, fun time. I don't think this ride will draw crowds by any means, but as a distraction for a bit while you're there, I imagine it will work.

This is one ride in which Universal may consider selling alcohol in line year round.
