Raging Bull too slow ?

I've noticed several people recently saying that Raging Bull was too slow. A few of these comments came from people who visited the park on Wed. June 27th, which was a very hot day. I was there that day myself, and noticed the same thing.

Does the heat affect the speed of the ride ?
Do the wheels get soft or something from the temp. of the rails ?

I'd imagine softer wheels give a smoother ride. Are firmer wheels faster ? This is interesting...
If I had to guess, I'd say heat makes the Urethane on the wheels softer, and more "gooey". The result would be a slower ride. I know SFoG's Deja Vu had this problem, the wheels would get too hot and the ride would go incredibly slow.

I was there also that day, and I rode it 4 times. I thought it was at it's best ever. I don't have a clue what your talking about. It was just as great as ever, and fast. At least that's what I think.

There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people.
Funny, another post said Nitro was running faster because of the heat:read it here http://www.coasterbuzz.com/forums/thread.asp?ForumID=13&TopicID=9381
And Nitro is the same type of B&M coaster, and it was basically the same temperature.

Hmmm...who knows ? Maybe I was wrong, but it just didn't seem as exciting as usual
(Blasphemy, I know).

Perhaps it was because my lapbar was too tight ? ;)

Of course, it's not like I'm gonna stop riding it...
If your lapbar was too tight, it is boring. I've ridden it many times, but only once did I accidently put the lapbar down too far. I couldn't wait to get off. I was wasting time that I could be on it with a loose lapbar and airtime!

TrBiggar,

That may very well be the case. My lapbar was much looser on our second ride Wednesday and I thought it to be much better than our first ride. I noticed the airtime A LOT more, especially on the first drop where I almost even put my hands down out of fear of falling out!

I think my disappointment in the Bull mostly lies in that I overhyped it to myself too much before the trip. I was expecting it to top Magnum as my all time favorite. Well, it's a great ride, but not that great, I guess. I think I'm mostly disappointed in that even though it's a hyper twister, there's not enough of the twisting, since all the turns are taken too slow, especially the figure eight finale, which is pretty much forceless. The airtime makes up for it though. Definitely much more airtime than I was expecting!

I wouldn't call it forceless, c'mon it's my favorite ride! (but it's you're opinion)

I was there for 2 days last year, and Raging Bull is just finnicky as hell.

1st ride: at night, middle of the train. pretty good. not mind blowing, but good.

2nd ride: next day. Back seat, better this time. Fantastic ride.

3rd ride: afternoon, front seat. AWFUL.

4th ride: night, back seat. 10 times better than all previous rides.

I like Bull, because of that. she has personality.

I think that a coaster usually tends to run faster when it's hot, I say this because I use to work at an amusement park and rides would run slower first thing in the morn and late at night because the track grease gets cold and stiff. This cold grease problem from what I understand is one of the many reasons coasters don't run in the winter in colder colimates

Life is a coaster . . . ride it
I rode the Bull yesterday, and she remains my favorite coaster, I know there are other better coasters, but this ride is great, I'd reccomend it to anyone!

AE isn't slow, how can something that doesn't move be slow!? ;)
