I thought about it and there's two track pieces per section of track on an rmc so that makes sense. But I think TC should have opened before a ride that was built in a blizzard.
Both rides are being built by the same company in sort of a split squad, and both have had their challenges (TC had to deal with a major fire and lift hill rebuild).

I bring this up on almost every California construction thread, but Summer Season here starts in mid-June. Not Memorial Day like the rest of the country. In fact, it's shocking to many (including some of the imagineering/creative team) that all of the Disneyland 60th anniversary stuff is starting mid-May, rather than mid-June.
No one should have expected TC to open in May, even prior to the fire.
