I had been planning to ask my girlfriend to marry me while ascending the lift hill of MF for sometime now. We arrived in the park about 12:15 or so and headed right off to MF. I had been throwing out clues to a major event that was going to happen on MF for about a month to her. These clues were absolutely bogus and meant nothing at all but I had to get her thinking about what it could be. We got in line and I reviewed each of the worthless clues for her in the hour that we waited. Then it was our turn..we boarded and I had the ring just inside my shorts pocket. We began to go up and I told her, "The answer to your clues can be made in the form of one question", with that I pulled the ring out of my pocket and asked her to marry me. She opened the box up and emphatically replied yes. She was waving the ring around and I said, "Oh Lord, put it back in the box, we're fixin' to drop." She did and we went on the most AWESOME ride of my life. The on-ride photo was worth a thousand words. I plan to scan it and put it up on the web for those interested) After MF and the initial shock wore off, we hit CCMR for a walk-on. She was so shook up she forgot to take off her hat and actually lost it on the ride. We could have cared less. We went on over to Magnum for a 15 minute wait. Heavy crosswinds caused some major braking in the pretzel but it was still awesome. Next up was both sides of Gemini. Last year I didn't get to ride it because both sides of it broke down and it was a MAJOR wait. Both rides this visit were walk-on waits and the rides had good hand slaps. Power Tower was next as I didn't get to ride it last year. (I went in LATE July and it was extremely busy) Raptor was looking beautiful with the new paint job and it ran wonderfully. Wildcat was next for another number. Iron Dragon was the last regular ride of the night. It was time to do some shopping and then take everything to the vehicle so we wouldn't have to pack anything around or rent another locker. We decided that since we got engaged on MF we should make it our night ride. The dj in line was taking requests as usual. My girlfriend went over there and told her what our story was and requested Pearl Jam's Last Kiss. (PJ being my favorite band of ALL time) Anyway, the dj came over the speaker and said, "We have a very special request tonight, we have a couple that got engaged on this ride earlier today. Where are they?" we raised our hands and everybody noticed us,he then said, "Can we make some noise for these folx?" That entire queue line roared with hoots and hollers. And the DJ played Last Kiss. It was one of the most awesome things I've ever experienced. It was the last song of the night and almost everyone in line was singing along. We finally made it up to the loading ramp of MF and got on. HOLY COW, what a night ride. I just lost total direction of where I was when I was on the ride. No words can describe it. That ended the most magical night I've had in my life. We left out for the motel and on to SFWOA the next day.
