New restraints on Maverick is great!

Hooray for that. I'm apparently the perfect height and never had an issue, or everyone else cries a lot.

I'm actually most interested in the quasi-resurrection of Tiki Twirl. It's a neat nod to the past while moving forward.

I guess the Turnpike Cars will be on their way to Dorney to join the rest of the cars that were already moved there when Road Rally opened.

I never had an issue with Maverick restraints either.

Ya know, I am too. Like I said elsewhere, it's either a nod to the past or pure laziness... :-)

I worked at the Surrey in 1973, (between Cedar Downs and Cadillacs, Subway is there now) and I could lean over the counter of the stand at night and see Calypso to my right, and look down the midway to the left and see Tiki Twirl whirling away. The turntable of that ride always looked so shiny and pretty, and I thought it was a great theme next to Jungle Larry's. So for that reason I can't wait to see the new Tiki Twirl.

Monster received such a great re-do last season- not only visually, but the ride action was so improved I was shocked and impressed. My hope for Calypso is that it receives the same loving care. Especially the red cars that had definitely lost their will to spin with the rest of them...

It's really great to hear that one of the surviving flats from my era getting a refurbishment, one I hope that does justice to the original.

We really hated Maverick when we were there in 2013.

Hopefully the new restraints will fix it.

I'm excited about Maverick because of my kids...I didn't have a problem with the restraints, but my kids did. I actually hate the seats...the way they slope down and back, at my height, it pushes right up on my .....and not in a good way. No issues at all with MForce, or Top Thrill...but those seats on Maverick...I'd almost take riding Mantis all day over those...almost. I still get hit with the restraints on Wicked Twister the most at 6'2"

I'm EXTREMELY happy to see the news about Tiki Twirl...I know a few of us have mentioned this past year on how many FREAKn lights were out on that thing this past year. It was easily the least cared for ride (next to Turnpike Cars.)...now it makes a little more sense.

Yes, really great news about Maverick. I love the ride, probably my favorite ride at CP, but I had to hold on to the top of the restraints tightly with both hands, which seemed to stabilize my upper body in some way that minimized the head banging. Now, I should be able to just enjoy the ride and not worry about the restraints.

I'm with ya there, Pete. I think Maverick is thrilling, but it's not high on my list of CP coasters. I'm the guy that took it in the jaw, both sides every time, and I've never been a big fan of trying to position myself just so in order to enjoy a ride.
I'm hoping this improvement makes Maverick better for me.

Maverick, IMO, would be a great ride if it went about 5-10 mph slower. My head gets shipped around into the restraints, therefore I will only ride in the first 3 rows. Looking forward to trying the new ones.

Turnpike cars had the coolest track layout of the 3. Also had the coolest looking cars (Cobras, Vettes and T-birds.) Yet at 6ft tall, they were darn near impossible for me to drive. I always thought 3 car rides was a lot, yet these were easily the least popular. Probably just due to location.

I moved to Ohio too late to even know what the Tiki Twirl is.

Oh, and call me crazy, but I'm going to miss Sir Rubadubs Tubs. Even though he's 12 now, my son and I will still ride those on a hot day. It's really funny to be floating lazily by all the people in the Maxair line and have them looking at us funny for being on a baby ride. But we always loved them.

I'm sure the loss of Turnpike Cars is in anticipation of whatever is coming in '16 to fill the Goodtime Theatre space but count my family as one that is disappointed in the loss of yet another ride that the entire family could enjoy together...unless of course you were over 6' apparently. It didn't matter that there were three car rides in the park...there are multiple coasters too. We enjoyed being able to all get on those whether it was Grandma and Grandpa, the young kids, or any of us really.

Can't please everyone.

Over 6 feet or over 200 lbs. I couldn't even ride with my brother.

Given the changes Cedar Fair has made at the park in the past few years, I'm inclined to think that whatever's coming for that area of the park will include family-friendly attractions.

Yeah!! My only complaint about maverick is going to be fixed!

Actually Vater hit on my biggest complaint about Maverick. It's top 10 for me.

I'm excited to see what the park plans for such a big area. Hard to imagine it could be for only a coaster.

It's not even in my top 10 at Cedar Point. Feels like I'm being karate chopped in the neck repeatedly. I look forward to the new restraints. The potential is definitely there.
