The developer behind the Orlando "polercoaster" reveals the layout for the new ride prior to the start of IAAPA.
I think Whizzer cars have electric motors in them and there's a third rail that powers 'em.
And Mr. Vater, you're right about those tires. I swear I've seen a chain lift that curves some kind of way, but now I can't think where. So I guess not.
sooperdooperLooper at Hersheypark curves directly up and out of the station but I think its tire driven and the chain doesn't engage until the track straightens out.
I think that detail was probably omitted from the video, just like the block brakes and the final brakes.

I'm pretty tired of seeing it on Facebook. But while people in this circle find it mostly unremarkable aside from height, clearly it has everyone else's attention.

I found this ride unremarkable up until this video was released. A few of my Facebook friends who know that I like coasters have shared this video with me asking me what I think. I think this coaster looks fantastic.

The FB thing is a little annoying, and shows a big reason we need forum software like this...organization.
On FB, every single time a family member or non-coaster friend sees that video show up on their feed, they know who to share it with. They might resist, realizing you've already seen it twenty times before they saw it once...but don't count on it.
I might get tired of riding this thing before it even opens...
Yes, and so every non-coaster person you know has to post it on your wall, but a bunch of your friends are also coaster people, and you see their friends posting it too.

You're a social media hipster, obviously. What do you win?

If the biggest problem of my day is seeing a coaster video too many times, then I'm doing something right.
...
...
...or doing something incredibly wrong.
Wait. Now I'm not sure which it is.
I'm still on the fence about whether it is going to be fantastic worthy. Of course, I am "meh" about TTD. Height scares me but I don't experience it long enough to realize just how high I am. Maybe this would heighten (ha) that experience. Other than that it just seems like an El Loco coaster. The only one of those I've been on is Steel Hawg and while it was fun, I'm not sure it is worthy of the hype this coaster is getting. My other issue is that I'm not convinced that this coaster will even be a reality and if it will I'm not sure of its longevity given that the people running this are not experienced. I guess I have just seen too many Wild West Park and Hard Rock Park scenarios to be excited.
