The developer behind the Orlando "polercoaster" reveals the layout for the new ride prior to the start of IAAPA.
I never say never to a coaster, but...
Yeah, probably never. I can't imagine being ok with being that high up, taking a good long time to get there, leaning over the side, barrel rolling at that height, and then doing what appears to be a greater than 90-degree drop from a good 500 or so foot height. I could be talked into it, but getting on of my own volition...it made me nervous just watching the animation.

Holy cow, that looks amazing! I have to admit that I was completely underwhelmed by the original video, Which I'll post here to save you all the trouble:

That video made it look slow and boring, And I was thinking it would have to be trim braked before ever major element, ala Screaming Squirrel. But this new video has me eating my words. In fact, "Polercoaster 1 looks too intense for me" went through my head. I cannot wait to ride!
I don't think the ride was designed until some time this year. The concept was there obviously, but the actual path certainly came later.

This looks way better than I could have imagined but I can't imagine it not being a migraine simulator with those off camber turns and OTSRs.

According to the video (at ~0:37) it looks like the restraints is vest-style, similar to the new B&M ones for example. Whether or not the video depicts an accurate vehicle/restraint is a different story
For some reason when I first read about this a year ago I pictured a ridiculously large Toboggan-like coaster, something that just spiraled down the tower, just to claim being 500' tall... Never did I imagine an actual coaster with elements that scared the crap out of me just by watching the rendering. My son (he's 5 and already loves coasters and parks) watched it with me and said "Daddy I don't want you to ride that because I want you to be safe!" Apparently 500' is where he draws the line.
But then again, what do I know?
