Will the new hyper coaster for SF Elitch Gardens i
With a new hyper coaster coming along I'm hoping that it will be good enough to put Denver on the map for a awesome roller coaster. If it does then the parks tourism and popularity will sky-rocket. Then maybe people from all over the country coming to ride, hopefully just like they did for Millennium Force.
Unfortunately for those of us in Colorado, Six Flags doesn't *need* to put a whole lot of capital into Elitch Gardens. There really isn't any competition for them in this part of the country (with regard to thrill rides anyhow); tons of Coloradoans will plunk down their dollars year after year to ride the same measly rides. The only reason that I know the difference is because I grew up in Ohio. My friends who are native to Colorado can't believe it when I shrug my shoulders at their repeated invitations to go to Elitch's. The bottom line is, Six Flags is *already* fooling most of the people most of the time 'round these parts. A hyper-coaster would be a welcome addition, but I won't hold my breath. If I were CEO of Six Flags, I'd be concentrating my thrill ride dollars on Ohio and California, too.
Well, SFEG is only "rumored" to get a hyper next year. I kind of doubt this, but offical Six Flags announcements will clear this up. And as far as a S:ROS clone, which version are you talking about?? The SFDL and SFA versions are mirrors, but the SFNE has a completely different and incredible layout.
As far as no good coasters in Denver. I'm not so sure. Lakeside Cyclone is a decent woodie and the Wild Chipmunk is a lot of fun as well.

I think they should tear down Twister II and rebuild the original (Mister) Twister before they build another coaster. I haven't been on Twister II but I have heard it doesn't even compare to the original. They need to fix what they have before moving on. Although a hyper coaster would be good for Elitch's. I will be visting next summer and it will be my first visit to the new Elitch's. I hope I'am not disappointed. If there is a new hyper I doubdt I will be!
It doesn't compare. I HATE Twister II, and I HATE Elitch Gardens. I thought it was the most disgraceful park I've ever set foot in. The rides were small and boring, and the biggest coaster there (twister 2) was rough, and uninteresting. Just driving to the park tells you how it's going to be. Rusted fences, tall grass, driving under the freeway, yuck. WHY did they move this park? The other location might have been bad ( I was never there) but it HAS to be better than where it is now. This park does NOT deserve to called Six Flags. It's obvious they weren't planning on building any big rides here ever, otherwise they wouldn't have moved it to this spot. There is NO room whatsoever. There's barely enough room for a family coaster. They will never get a hypercoaster.

Thats kind of what I was afraid of Clarkbar. I have heard nothing but bad things about Twister II. The original (Mister) Twister was one of my favorite coasters. Actually the old Wildcat and Mister Twister were the first two coasters I EVER went on. I could not believe it when I heard Elitch's was moving and they weren't taking the original Twister. Why??? Anyway this thread is about a Superman hyper. I have not been on a Superman clone yet so I will STILL be looking forward to next year if they built it. Intamin builds great steel coasters (M Force is awesome!). I think Elitch's needs a hyper very badly!

You bring up an interesting point. Sooner or later the Twister 2 is going to get torn down or dismantled and rebuilt, because if you watch the supports as the car goes up and around the turn after the first drop you can see the ware and tear that the supports have gone through. No one has actually confirmed the dismantling or mantainence of the Twister 2 but like I said before, its going to come down sooner or later.
