Just went to Canada's Wonderland. . . . awesome park, probably my favorite of all Cedar Fair parks. . .trip report forthcoming. Anyhoodle, I noticed that the sound of the Leviathan train is much different than any other B&M I have ever been on. On the first drop it's almost silent until right before it hits the tunnel, then it comes to life. Are the wheels just not in contact with the rails on the first 2/3 of the descent? Anyone else notice? BTW, Leviathan beats the panties off any other giga-coaster I have ever ridden. I can just imagine how good Fury is going to be.
I would guess that it is because they put sand inside the rails where you can't hear the roar, and they didn't put sand in the noisy parts.
