Let's see...Cedar Point had the water line break, then the riot (or whatever it was), then the plane crash (okay, so it was a forced landing).
Now tonight Kings Island took their turn with a power outage that shut all the rides down for a while. Don't know how long the power was out, but friends on the scene claim they are making it up to their guests by staying open until midnight tonight.

I just learned they didn't stay open until Midnight, but they did stay open an extra 45 minutes. I still don't know how long the power was out.
And so far we don't know if they did anything else, nor do we know if riders were stuck anywhere, or how those people were treated. sws, I recognize *ahem* your point ;) , but in all seriousness, just because a FOAF report doesn't mention it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Wasn't someone from the Paramount days complaining that the electrical infrastructure there was completely inadequate?

I don't recall, but at least the infrastructure should be available...
I know there have been a lot of power problems in the Cincinnati area in the past week; this may have had nothing to do with the park and everything to do with commercial suppliers.
And maybe it isn't Ohio, but Cedar Fair. I just read on Failbook that Valleyfair! has suffered flooding and will have several rides closed today.

Valleyfair borders on a protected wetlands region, away from the metro area. It's not uncommon to have mild flooding in early spring before the park opens. Minnesota has had significant amounts of rain for the last several weeks. June will go down as one of the wettest months on record. There has been significant flooding throughout the state - even in the Twin Cities metro area.
I worked there from 1996 to 2002 and at least once a year they lost power to the entire park causing multiple ride evacs. In 1999 I worked on Drop Zone when it debuted and for a long time we had to be in constant contact with flight of fear because if we started a cycle at the same time they launched a train it would cause the flight of fear train to abort its launch due to lack of power to the Lims. It took so much power to pull the carriage through the magnets there wasn't enough to run both at the same time.
