I consider myself to be fairly well-informed, even though not particularly well-traveled, but I can honestly say I've never once heard of this Tayto Park until just now.

(sorry, Mr. Bannister...)

€8.5 seems low for such a big coaster

A quick look at the exchange rates shows about 11.5 million dollars, which sounds about right for a large wooden coaster.

Hardly surprising. It's a zoo with a playground at the moment.

Having said that, so was Flamingo Land once upon a time. We live in interesting times.

Yeah, that's really low. €8.5 million, however, sounds about right.

The planning permission has been lodged.

Here's a link. There are a few renderings:

I think they're under the scanned files button there, but I couldn't see the drawings listed because I don't have the required plug in.

Oops, I've just realised I never posted back about this.

Planning permission was granted in May:

Construction started in September and is well underway as of this writing.

There will be a formal press announcement in the next few weeks at which point I'll be able to share construction photos.

Comparatively speaking, the amount of coasters Gravity Group has done in the US is much smaller than in other countries. Does anyone know why this is? Market saturation? The firm's preference? Just curious.

You can buy them here:

Cheese and Onion is definitely the main flavour... :)
