GCI&CCI

I was wondering if anyone could make two seperate lists of CCI and GCI coasters in the USA. I always get them confused so I need them given to me right here. Thanks.

The quesstion u asked is very difficult to answer from the CCI point of veiw, however GCI was branch off of CCI, by pres Michael Boodly (sp). Anywhoz GCI has made Wildcat (hersheypark) Roar (six Flags America & Six Flags Marine World) Gwanzi (Busch Gardens Tampa) Lightning Racer (hersheypark) I'm pretty sure this is all of GCI's for teh complete list got to greatcoassters.com which is GCI's website. One way to tell them apart is that GCI's barely have any straight track except for the brake run. even the drops are twisted! Also none to date are over 100 ft.

imo, cci is better. i like the up and down airtime better than twists and sharp turns.

GCI has historically only built one coaster (counting dueling as one) per year, right?

I'll admit I'm an airtime whore, but the one GCI I've been on, Roar East, was amazing. Fast wood turns are great fun when they're done right.

I think the Wildcat @ Hershey is loaded with lots of air. The Lightning Racer has a few spots as well. CCI packs a ton of floatting air on their coasters though. :D

Having been on now 4 CCI's I can attest to the quality of them. I hope to make it to SFMW ang try out Roar West to compare a GCI.

And BTW Jeff, do yourself a favor and get your butt on Shivering Timbers. If you are lookin for your fix of airtime, plan a roadtrip today!! You, or anyone else, will not be dissappointed.

Whose Line is it Anyway?

Actually, most of the GCI coasters do offer some really good moments of quick, violent air if you sit in the correct car.

Sitting in the front row, or especially row 2 on the HP WC or SFA Roar is crucial for airtime. This is because nearly all of GCI's hill crest and then turn instead of CCI hills which usually crest and drop again. So, on the GCI's, sitting in the front will give you airtime as the upslope comes to an end.

Of course, by not sitting in the back on a GCI you miss out on the lovely pacing, wicked laterals, and stand-up first hill air of the coasters. Both positions offer a different and exciting ride on a GCI.

CCI's are really air laden coasters as well and are not to be missed. I can't wait to ride Legend!
