Loaded gun found in seat of Animal Kingdom ride

A Walt Disney World park guest found a loaded gun in the seat of a ride at the Animal Kingdom that had fallen out of a man's back pocket on Sunday. A grandmother handed a Cobra .380-caliber semiautomatic pistol about noon to a park attendant, who immediately contacted security and the Orange County Sheriff's Office. The owner claimed the firearm — which had five hollow point bullets inside — fell out of his back pocket during the bumpy Dinosaur ride.

Dude, c'mon. That would involve more than just reading the first post and scrolling down to the reply button. Nobody's got that kind of time.

You know what this reminds me of?

...That movie with Chevy Chase and his family traveling to the amusement park. At the end, Chevy gets a gun and holds it to the security guard. played by the late and great John Candy, while riding a roller coaster:

Lasky - That's not a real gun, is it Clark?

Clark - Are you kidding? This is a Magnum P.I.

Lasky - It's a BB gun!

Clark - Don't tempt me. I could put an eye out with this thing.

Lasky - You couldn't even break the skin with that thing.

Any of you ever see THAT movie? lol

Gee, maybe Disney should set up a checkpoint and start doing bag checks to prevent this sort of thing...

Which isn't helpful if you're carrying the weapon on you. But at the very least, they should have the red-slash-gun signs at the checkpoints.

My question is: who the heck needs a gun at Disney World!?

Adult riders of It's A Small World come to mind.

A bucket of softballs for $5 would be an adequate replacement.

Ever hit someone right in the head with a softball?

A goose egg at best.

The loaded gun would be infinitely more satisfying.

Apparently the guy forgot he had it on him until he was nearly at the gate. Instead of taking the tram back to his car or securing it in a locker, he was lazy and careless enough to take it on the rides with him. That's what really kills me.

Gonch, how about some nicely weighted throwing knives? Since you get "stabby" sometimes.

I just don't understand that. I'm check to make sure my phone and wallet are in my pocket pretty much every time I stand up, and that's without them having ever fallen out. How do you not check to see if your lethal weapon is on you?

Sunscreen is for "protection" - but a loaded gun REALLY protects.

Or some such inanity...

It's a stupid world after all?

Not saying a loaded gun on a ride is smart, but what's stupid about carrying one otherwise?
