The Sea Dragon could make its new home on Green Bay’s waterfront by this summer. The Green Bay City Council agreed Tuesday to spend $670,000 to acquire the new swinging boat ride as the latest addition to Bay Beach Amusement Park. The acquisition is part of a new plan for investing millions to expand and upgrade the city-owned amusement park over the next several years.

I agree with everyone else that is overpriced. A quick search brought up a Sea Dragon for sale for $149,000
What cement work? Its a portable mount, on two trailers. You drive it up, and park. The boat is on trailer, and the a-frame is on another. The Sea Dragons are cheap, because they are out dated. Chance went to a Pharoh's Fury ride which is on one trailer, which means means keeping only one CDL driver on payroll to move the ride.
Are you really suggesting they're going to drop a ride they do not intend to move in the grass and put up portable barriers for a queue?

Surely they wouldn't take the request before city council for approval unless the total included all costs - planning, site prep, electric, cee-ment, etc. I can totally see where the actual cost of the ride would be far less than the sum of all parts.
Hey... unless it's Michael Jackson's Sea Dragon...
I have a feeling that this Sea Dragon will be brand new. Chance built a brand new one for the Galveston Pleasure Pier Last year.
The person who wrote the news article is only human, and was probably on a deadline to get the story finished, so it's a possibility that the article has a careless mistake or two in it somewhere. No?

Careless mistake where? In the cost quoted in the article? Once again, I'm not surprised if the cost of the total project is near that. From the rendering it looks like they've got a nice design that will keep the ride from looking so portable. City council has approved a certain amount, and if they come in under they've come in under, which would be a good thing.
