Indiana Beach owes $347k in taxes to county

I haven't been to IB in a few years, but that being said, this situation doesn't sound like it bodes well for the long term survival of the park.

I've heard rumors a couple times that Morgan might be willing to sell IB - back to the Spackman family would obviously be ideal, but any experienced operator with more of an interest in "the park itself" would be welcome.

IB was my favorite park from a mid western swing that included Holiday World and Six Flags America. Hope they can turn it around.

So what, IB owes $347 thousand. Our government owes millions upon millions to China that grows more and more everyday. Who's teaching who here?

Without knowing much about either situation, I would assume their is a difference between an ongoing loan and a past due bill.

No, that was Couch and Lesourdsville...why don't RV people stay away from amusement parks unless they're going as patrons?

More than a little depressing park news this off-season. Sigh.

If Couch bought it just to close it, He wouldn't have sunk over 3 million to open it in 2002. The fact was there were rarely more in the park than employees. Pugh had no money or credit. Every dime was Jerrys. It would have taken several more million just to fix underlying problems long left un maintained.

As for IB, Karma? I mean the way they treated long time employees and their operations when I was there with half of everything closed at most times............

And last time I looked, Both Knoebels and HW or huge camping resort/parks even if Rudolph isn't technically HW.

Chuck, I'm sure GCG was just attempting to be humorous by trying to relate this to peoples ideas about what happened to Geauga Lake. Like when people say "if they needed a hotel, one would have already been built"

IB is offering 40% discounted accommodation rates. I hope the park ends up in good hands... It was such a perfect and reliable "staple" for so long before this group took over.

Oh... just saw the deal expires today. Who wants to go to IB in February? Strange.

It's good for the whole year ... you just have to reserve today to get the discount.
