Theme Park Cost

THink About Cedar POint the half the Peninsula 14 coasters 69 rides. Wow a lot money there.
Cedar Point (actually Valley Fair), really owns the whole penninsula and some land on the mainland. Such as the employee dorms and a hotel or two on route 6. The peninsula streches about six miles in total all the way down to Huron. They are difinatly the most important thing in Sandusky's ecomomy, probably Erie county too. *** This post was edited by no1 on 6/14/2001. ***
no1 has the right idea, start small and grow. DID CEDAR POINT APPEAR OVERNIGHT!? i dont think so ;)

ZEPPELIN RULES
In my opion I think the game Rollercoaster Tycoon may make more money than park admission sales, what do you think?
There are many factors involved in biulding a theme park, such as how much land you want to buy and how much that land it going to cost.
Does Texas Need a new park ? maybe in the east of the state ?

$40 million cash and another $20 Million in loans and another $40 from investors. Oh and did I mention, cheap land and political savy.
Well since I have that dream as well and am actually working on making that a reality(back me up Jordan:) Ill jump in here

From my early research, you have to have above all a feasability study done. Basically this entails projected vistors, site location/purchase, rides, other attractions, food, vending(well you get the picture the Whole concept kit and kaboodle of the park)

This task is not a cheap one, and unless you have lots of money already, you have to have sponsorship in the form of mostly private investing.

If they like your concept and think it has a chance, there is a strong likelyhood that they will help fund the study and maybe even the park developement itself. Keep in mind, Investors want to see a confirmed project. They will not finance just an "idea"

This is where I am in development at this time for Hoosierland Park, getting this money, and so far it has not been easy

Here's the park concept:

Hoosierland Park, Near Indianapolis Indiana
Signature Attraction: Abundant Grace Hall: A 5000 seat auditorium with worship servies, and christian/gospel music.

Restaurant: "Hoosier Cookin": A family restaurant serving some great
Indiana
Food:)

Thrills: Two Rollercoasters:

Timber Rattler: The Tallest and longest wooden rollercoaster in the
state of
Indiana : Stats:

Approx 150 ft high, 5000 ft long. Featuring two large 1st drops and a
series
of high banked turns, double & Triple helixes with 5 tunnels.

Firefly: The old Drachen Fire coaster from BGW. Refurbished by Arrow or
Morgan Mfg, painted Cherry Red and with 2 tunnels.

3 Go Kart Tracks: Slick Track, Family Track, and Speed Track(rental
karts up
to 50 mph)

And that's it for the beginning of this park.

This alone will take over 25 million to concept, build and complete!!

As you can see, I have my work cut out for me

Park without SkyCoaster, is no park at all.

PKI Trip - July 7-9, 2001
the new movie world madrid park with 5 coasters 25 atractions and 10 shows will cost 350 millions dollars.
What does any one think of a water park/theme park as one park instead of a seperate entrance like at Fiesta texas, at this one the water slides and coasters could kind of be " Tangeled Up" and there would be water rides with theme park rides put together. What does any think of that ? than there is the down side, water parks are only open from May to September, so the water rides would be closed from March to April, and then again from september to december. So what I am trying to say is that during those months, there would not be as many attracions and rides open as it would be during the summer time.
That is the only down side .

My parents are considering purchasing over 100 acres in Davidson County, North Carolina. I told her if I could get $3 million, I would hire CCI to do a wooden coaster somewhere on the land. But maintaining a CCI coaster, WHAT A NIGHTMARE!

The Jet Coaster ROARS!
What about an indoor water park hooked up next door ? about 10 acres in size.

Just put down about 10 acres of gravel for a parking lot, a few carney food stands, used flat rides, some bumper boats and a boomarang! About $2 M. Then invite me :)

If I were to ever start a theme park I would never have a boomerang, because there are already 2 in texas, and that is were I am looking to put it.

"A real park always is homegrown like CP and KW, not a mega-corporate greed park like Disney or IOA. The best parks are very old with humble beginings.

Ummmm, disney is a humble park. Don't diss Disneyland. That's in the middle of a huge fastly growing city.
