A boy expecting a day packed with fun landed in the hospital Thursday afternoon when a bird slammed his face as he was riding the Kingda Ka roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure. A park official said the roller coaster had already plummeted 45 stories back toward the ground and was pulling into the station when the bird struck the passenger's face.

But Mike, park spokespersons sometimes have to soften the blow of the dangers of their rides when that speak to the media. I just found the way she worded it to be kind of... deliberate.

Around here it's mostly because software engineers can't be bothered to actually update their software to work with newer browsers. Thankfully Firefox is slowly becoming standard and fixing both those problems.
