Just a little tidbit of info the cobra roll is almost done and should be finished in a few days to come. They are really moving on construction of BKF. The first drop was completed in under a day.

Isnt It called a "Boomarang" since it is on a regular on top of track coaster, instead of a "Cobra Roll" ?

Different companies refer to the same element by different names. For example:

1) 3rd and 4th inversons on Raptor: Vekoma calls it a Boomerang. B&M calls it a Cobra Roll. Arrow calls it a Batwing.

2) 5th and 6th inversions on Vortex(PKI): B&M calls it a Batwing. Arrow calls it a Boomerang.

3) Arrow calls it a cutback. Intamin calls it an overbanked curve :)

For bonus points, name the Arrow coaster with both a cutback and batwing :)

That would be the standing but not operating Drachen Fire at Busch Gardens Williamsburg with the cutback and batwing. The cutback seemed to actually travel upside down, though (more than the 122 degrees of MF) and offered a nice bit of hangtime. Too bad this ride didn't last as it was one of my favorites.

You're right Villian. The cutback on DF did go 180 as opposed to MF's 122. I used it here for the sake of example only. That's the only instance of that type of element I know of until MF. DF was a good ride. Hopefully the rumors of a buyer are true.

Why did they close Drachen Fire anyway?

There were a lot of complaints filed by the GP at BGW that DF was extremely rough. It also has a lousy location. It is on the back side of the Big Bad Wolf. To get there, you have to walk halfway to a picnic shelter then take a long path to the ride area. There are no other attractions near it so DF had to fend for itself. Ironically, the park train travels very near DF. BGW never built a station in that area. I think that if they would have put in a station, DF might have had more riders.
