Disaster Transport for first coaster?

Is Disaster Transport good for a first coaster? My dad, is 50 years old, and is scared on flume rides. He does like ThunderCanyon at Cedar Point. We are going to Cedar Point, he has riden a few coasters, but is scared of anything,"if it drops more than 5 ft, goes faster than 5mph, goes upside down" his words there. I think he's a little mixed up, but would it be ok to get him on Disaster Transport, I've never riden it, but I don't think it is really to bad for a 50 year old guy. What are your thoughts, or do you recommend something else at CP?

Yeah, Disaster Transport wouldn't be bad. It does scare off alot of 'newbies" though as they cannot see the track and may be unsure as to if there are big drops or loops (none of which are on DT). You might want to start him out on Mine Ride first though and then DT or Iron Dragon.

Definitly get him on Mine Ride first... It's a "real" coaster, and it'll build up confidence. Then take him over to Woodstock's express, and after that, try Iron Draggon. After Iron Dragon, take him on Disaster Transport, and then try Wildcat. After Wildcat, head to Corkscrew (come from Gemini midway as to hide the loop and corkscrews), and get him on that...

He'll then realize that drops and loops aren't so bad, and it should be smooth sailing from then on out...

Or start with Woodstock Express! The fact that it appears to be a "kiddie" coaster helps people ignore the fact that it's more intense!

NO, the darkness is a bit much for some people. Mineride is the best, which was mentioned. It was my first at CP in 76. The Blue Streak should be the next one. Have him then hit White Water Landing, then maybe the Iron Dragon. Then take him the the ice cream palor at the Breakers, sit on the boardwalk, and enjoy the great views of the lake.
