Hello Coaster Fans Who Are Afraid of the Dark,
FYI On the SyFy channel Wed. Jan 11, 2012 at 9pm Ghost Hunters will be at Kings Island having a show about a girl ghost that haunts the place. I personally have never heard of this story. Anyone know anything about it?

I've heard a few stories about Kings Island being haunted. I forget them now though.
Cedar Point feels very haunted when you are walking down the midway at 3 in the morning. There are a lot of stories about CP too, especially about the ballroom over the arcade and the carousel building in Frontier Town.

Is this one of those shows where nothing ever happens, nothing is proven and the people act all scared constantly telling us about the noise they heard or the sudden change in temperature or some other 'phenomenon' that the camera never experiences?
Wait. It's a reality ghost show on TV...it has to be.
Shows how much they know. The ghost of a 5 year old girl who died in the 1840s would never be tall enough to ride any of the roller coasters.
And as Gonch mentioned, they had the camera fixed on the "investigators" as they said "did you see that light?" Then when the cameraman turned around to film what they were looking at, the light was gone. Imagine that.
Perhaps if they checked their recordings (or "EVPs") more thoroughly they would find the tell-tale "wah-wah" trombone sound of a Peanuts teacher.
"Thank the Phoneticians!"
GOCC had their holiday party there in December. :-)

Well that was everything I expected it to be.
One year the BeastBuzz dinner was up in the restaurant.
Coasting for Kids had their lunch up there a few years back.

I usually don't watch the reality-based ghost hunter shows just because you never really see anything or hear anything but a lot of "What the (beep) is that? Did you see that?" or "Play that back! Did you hear...THERE IT IS!" It gets very old after a while. I do love the history behind the hauntings, though!
It was definitely worth watching. The visuals were stunning and definitely added to the drama, including the lightning in the backgound. ;) I would love to explore a park like that in the middle of the night with the same equipment. Sounds like a blast!
I have heard stories of the little girl from several people over the years, and I didn't know a cemetary was beside the park. I also had no idea that a gun powder factory used to be on the grounds, which had the explosion in 1890. The possible connection with the little girl and a girl's grave, as well as other "ghosts" from that accident that may be buried there, is interesting enough for me. Speculation is always fun, especially when you don't really take it seriously. :)
