Took a ride out to Knoebels for the re-opening.
They have a sign for a detour as 487 South is closed just past the high school a few miles before Knoebels.
Park looks really good, about 10 rides are not operating, and they are mainly the kid rides. Worst ones are definetely the kid's carousel and cars on the track rides. Guy working on the carousel said they are going to fix it, and won't be running this year. Few games and shops were closed, but mostly everything was operating.
Lowest flood marker for 2011 is at my shoulder (I'm 5'8"). Highest is above my head, by a few inches and that was over by the woodworking area.
Flying Turns had some washout damage around it's fence and some pilings. Damage isn't that severe that it will delay it's non-opening in 2011. Instead of showing the video of the train running, the monitor was showing a slideshow of the flood waters and cleanup. Rest of the damage is to the houses, the one near Phoenix had the wall pushed out from the waters running.
Bumper cars were running, but about half the cars are not running.
Rode Phoenix a bunch, Twister little less, and did couple stints on Flyer.
Just another Mike..
It would be super helpful if you used more descriptive titles in the future.

If I titled it "Knoebels 9/17/11", it would have sounded like a trip report. But since it didn't contain comments about time spent on line, food eaten or lack of perks, it didn't fit in the "Trip Reports" section. Sure wasn't news, so didn't belong there. So, it seemed fitting to put it in this "General Buzz" section, with a generic title to it.
So, any suggestions as to how you'd like the titles to be described would be super helpful.

Knoebels: After the flood
My post-flood Knoebels visit
Knoebels looks really good considering...
OMG! Like Knoebels is totally back up and running already!!!
Noble Knoebels budding after flooding
If I wanted to spend more time on it, I could probably write about 50 more. :)

But did you know what it was about, AV? Sure you did. It's about Knoebels. But *what* about Knoebels?
And let me just say that this thread is helping me to fully learn how to spell Knoebels correctly. Knoebels is probably my most misspelled word here. I appreciate the opportunity to type Knoebels over and over in this topic. Thanks. :)
...Knoebels!

I'd write a haiku right now, but I don't know if Knoebels counts as 2 syllables or 3.
I count it as three: Kuh-No-Buls (that last syllable has a schwa, but I'm not going to try and figure out how to "make" one).
That's because you're not a native Pennsylvanian. We're also able to make 2 syllables out of "Bethlehem," "Lancaster," and "Lebanon." Some can even do it with "Wilkes-Barre."
