How does a floorless floor work?

I've heard that the floor in the station of a floorless coaster is odd. How does the floor "drop out". Does it angle down then drop or what?

Could one you that have ridden BKF or Medusa explain how the floor works?

The floor is in 2 parts. First the floor drops down from it's original postition, and then makes a angle like this /\ and slides down on the sides of the track and your off. So hears a litte diagram: 1, -- 2, __ 3, /\ 4, l(track)l, got it. pretty simple.

The floor panels do not actually bend. Look here to see them retracted:

From that position, they tilt level, then raise about a foot.

I've never actually seen a floorless coaster or even heard of one until I joined this site. Could someone describe the actual coaster concept to me? Thanks :)

Just imagine a regular sit-down steel looping coaster and take away the floor. I think that's all it is.
