While last year's opening of Shoot the Rapids was delayed because of technical problems, this year's new ride — WindSeeker — is off to a slow start because of northern Ohio's wicked weather. WindSeeker will not be running when the park opens on May 14.

I'm thinking opening day was a fine, and totally realistic goal, but now that we've had the wettest spring season in Ohio history, there's going to be some delay. I'm just waiting for someone to comment on how it "figures that CF can never get anything open on time" while simultaneously applauding Knoebels for persevering on Flying Turns.

Nicely played. Humor aside, I'll take up the challenge.
Two different companies, two different sets of expectations. Cedar Fair is like General Motors: they're the 800-pound gorilla who can do anything it wants. They've got the muscle and the wherewithal to build any attraction, anywhere, any time they want, if they so choose.
Knoebels is the complete opposite. They're like your uncle Charlie, building a dune buggy in his garage on the weekends so he can tool around town in it and impress the neighbors.
Plus, Knoebels is cool. Cedar Fair is not. Cedar Fair is the newly incarnate manifestation of Satan, who previously occupied Six Flags, and before that, Microsoft.

I wondered why the urinals around here were all scorched.

I just can not post this thought, sorry in advance but Here we go:
Cedar Point: Disapointing Opening Day Fanboys since 2004!
Why have the new ride open on opening day when you can get all those people to come back again on another day?
2025 Trips: Universal Orlando, Disneyland Resort, Knotts, Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, Cedar Point, Kings Island, Canada’s Wonderland, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Sea World Orlando, Discovery Cove, Magic Kingdom
I'm still stumped on this...yeah it rained...big whoop. It's a pole in the ground!! Those other umpteen coasters they have had ready for opening day...those have lots of poles in the ground!
It just seems that CF is like a kid doing last minute studying of homework for a test "assuming" they will be able to cram at the last second.
It just seems that they all could have had the land cleared and cement poured by Christmas easily if they wanted to they start going vertical late feb.
I'm happy they have been working nights...but I'm still disapointed. At least it was expected after seeing KIs progress.
