Not news, exactly, but there's an interesting story about how Orlando is easily the biggest growth city in Florida. Not surprising to me, because as I was looking for places to move to, Orlando ranked very highly in terms of technology jobs.

Yeah, there are tons of tech companies in Orlando. . . much more that I thought before moving here. Between L-3, Siemens, Lockheed et al, if things go south (at my current job) the prospects are not so dismal. I just wish the real estate market didnt tank as much. I lost a good 50k from the value of my house. If just waited two years. I could have gotten my place for half the price.

Seattle is like that too, though it's crazy expensive to begin with. Million dollar homes for half price seems like a bargain. No shortage of jobs either. Extreme shortage of roller coasters.

You would think a city like Seattle would have a nice amuesment park but I am guessing that the weather is the reason they would not be able to operate one?

I doubt it. It doesn't rain from June to September. Wild Waves seems to do OK, but it has had a revolving door of owners, so I suppose that accounts for the lack of investment.

Seattle is seriously underserved in the amusement park arena, although the Puyallup Fair does help.

Climate-wise, yeah, there's really no reason. The reputation for being wet is overstated. Moderate is the word that comes to mind (unlike, say, the humidity of Orlando).
