Is X The Redeeming Coaster For Arrow?

After riding Arrow coasters, I realized that most of them are nothing to write home about..Hopefully, X will be the one coaster to really generate new life for Arrow, it will probably be the smoothest, most intense, and probably the most fun of Arrow's coasters..Who here feels the same? GO X!

If the sensation you get from riding the coaster is more along the lines of a spin and puke from all the twisting and turning while going over 70 MPH, then I doubt it. While I will be excited to ride it, I am taking a wait and see approach with this coaster. Did you say smooth and Arrow in the same sentence? We'll have to see about that as well...

1)Arrow does not need to be redeemed. They also supply parks with wild mice, flume rides, mine train coasters as well as large coasters. Let's dismiss this notion that everything is riding on X.

2)Gary Bird of Arrow recently spoke at PGA. He indicated that Arrow has fixed their roughness problems, and that the wheels on their new coasters will be in constant contact with the track.

3)Several other parks have inquired about adding a ride similar to X, so obviously parks still have an affection for Arrow Dynamics. ;)

Good point DWeaver, X does not have to redeem Arrow, they make many other rides, though when was the last time Arrow built a hyper, I think 1994. This may get Arrow building large coasters again.

No, there is a newer Arrow Hyper in Japan, named Titan (which was before the one in texas BTW). I forget the year, but I think it may have been built in 1999. The colors are that of superman.

I thought Titan was built before Magnum. That was where the tested the idea for the inversion less coaster, thus the hyper coaster was born.

No, Titan was built in 1994, the same year as Desperado and Pepsi Max Big One, I believe. Arrow is a good company, who still makes some cool rides besides just coasters.

However, I do believe that X could definitely give the company a much needed shot in the arm. While they are doing just fine as it is, I believe this coaster could push them back up into a top manufacturer of coasters once again. Like I said, if Road runner express is any indication about them fixing their roughness problem, then I think the company is going to do just fine. I expect X to completely blow the industry away. Of course it could be a big flop, but I'm not counting on that! :)

Arrow definately doesn't need redeeming(who knows, the same could be said about B&M in ten or so years, personally I get my head slung a few times on the three inverts of thiers I get to ride so far, but that's just me), if anything X looks like a turn-off to me. Spinning, revolving, all of that, not to mention being "dropped on my head", just doesn't sound like a good time for me. I like loopers, unfortunately my zone of coaster reach does not have the major loopers by Arrow, so I can only say that IMO the idea could have evolved into something more confortable. Lap bars? I don't know, lap bars would redeem some of the companies that need redeeming. X, not for me, maybe it'll bring a new looper out of 'em, or something.

I dunno..Arrow is still a odd company to me.. I haven't seen one of their Mine Trains in ages! Neither have I seen a flume..Can you tel me the names?

You know MFRules, I would love to see what Arrow would do with a 2002 hyper. I guess X will show some of that, but I wonder if they will ever have a chance to build a straight foward hyper again.

Mine trains rock! You no like the Dahluega(sp?), it's pretty cool if anything just for the "trek". For Mine Trains, though, I think there's one called Diablo in Spain, it may be a Vekoma, I've never seen or heard of Vekoma's Mine Train, I don't know. There is a newer one in the states that's real popular(somebody else will think of it first....). But wouldn't one think Arrow could do some business just making parts for all thier stuff that's kicking it all around the place.

CP has a lot of arrow coasters. I always liked their Mine trains . Gemini Is arrow's best example of them (IMO)

Right Dennis, I had forgotten just how many of CP's coasters were Arrow. This is a company that has alot to be proud of. It's interesting that people complain of roughness on their coasters, I always found them rough in a good way, like Magnum's second drop into the tunnel. To me it always added to the out of control feeling. I agree, some of the loopers were poorly designed, but sometimes I think people complain just to be complaining, you know the type, they complain about roughness yet re-ride the coaster 45 times ;)

It's DAHLONEGA, but don't ask me how to pronounce it. Virtually EVERY Six Flags or Paramount park has an Arrow flume and mine train. Also Cedar Point is a good example of many of Arrow's diverse talents.

DWeaver hits the mark on this topic. As for X, I doubt if it will catch on for them, but who knows. I couldn't even get a shirt without a hole in it!! Crazy IPS!

Yes X will create excitement for Arrow. There will be a resurgence for them especially with there all new product line. Can't wait to see the Fish Hook,ArrowBATic,Virginia Reel,64 passenger Super Train.

How can X be the redeeming coaster for Arrow? They have never lost it. They just built Physco Mouse @ PGA.

In a way they did lose it because they really didn't to anything to really impact the industry or make a ride that really stands out. take a look at all of the other major companies. Intamin made MF, gio. made Goliath , b+m made some amazing coasters, cci brought back the era of the woody, and s+s brought some major changes with hypersonics and the power shots. As all of this was going on arrow made nothing of large size or really impacted the industry, yeah they put some log fumes and stuff here and there and even the phsyco mouse at pga but they did nothing really large. I think the x concept will really have an impact on the industry, also the fish hook design will really have a good impact on the industry.

I think x will be the redeeming coaster for arrow and they definetly needed one they were quiet with good coasters for a while. Every company redeemed themselves, like itamin with supermanUE and sros and mill force, b&m with some hypercoasters, DH morgan with steel dragon, and ect. Other words they should start building a lot of these especially as other parks see the reaction of the people once this ride is opened the should start going up everywhere and hopefully at cedar point, Michigans Adventure, Or six flags great america wich are the three closest parks to me.

JORDON DUNHAM- Keep in mind Arrow came up with the current tubular spine (AKA Steal) Roller Coaster concept.
