The new attraction at Kings Island that will be unveiled Friday is an animated dinosaur walk. Greg Nichols, with the city of Mason’s engineering department, said the amusement park submitted a drawing of a giant T-Rex they want to post outside the park.

(Clicks back to page one and rereads Juggalotus' post about animatronic management...)
Oh, yea. I thought it was a typo. lol

LK - it looks fairly similar, so it might be the same one. I think it's been a couple years since they were at the Detroit Zoo, so I'm not too surprised at it not being on the recent list. If what KI is doing is anything like what I remember the Detroit Zoo exhibit being, it'll be worthwhile addition, if even for just one season.
Apparently the subtle humor was too subtle. ;)

I still fail to see how having a bunch of animatronics of Cedar Fair upper management is an attraction that people want to see. Just seems like a poor investment.
Post of the week. You get a gold star and an "'at a boy."

Well it is the Dinosaurs Alive! tour.....And they want $5 to walk through it. Way in Gonch Camp of saying, Nah baby Nah. Even with a pass it is still $5 more. Since it is a moving display will it be gone next year and if so is this a new area for things like this? Will they really make enough money off of this?
Like I was saying before, I don't really have a problem with the attraction. It's different for a regional park, I applaud the idea of going a totally different direction.
What I hated was the build-up. It was the most random, poorly done, nonsensical, unneeded bit of hype ever. It actually made me care less about the attraction. Vague videos and random images do not make intrigue. Huge fail there.
The dinosaur thing is a neat idea. No way in hell I'd pay $5 a head to do it though, it's just not that unique on it's own or compelling enough for us...and it's certainly not a reason to visit the park. More like something extra to do if you're already there. Can't really see dinosaur lovers spending $35 for a ticket and another $5 just to check this out.
What do I know though?
You'd have to buy me a ticket too. We're not even bothering with passes this year (for the first time in the 5 years we've lived here). We have no plans to visit KI this year.
Maybe we'll get bored enough to do a day (I would like Windseeker pics/video for my website), but it's so far off the radar that it's not worth thinking about.
No real fans of our 'home' park here at stately Gonch Manor. :)
EDIT - Interesting comments as usual on the Facebook announcement
I don't see a link to the announcement in this topic, so here it is.
So I would love to talk about the hints and clues. They sucked. They didn't make any sense at all. They didn't pertain to what they were actually installing at all, with only two exceptions. The photo with the giant red dinosaur, and the dinosaur footprint in the snow.
Don Helbig looking down at the camera and getting scared didn't clue us in on anything. A tree with a red ribbon? Didn't mean anything. A tire track in the mud? Nothing. FAIL!
The attraction looks kind of interesting though. If I have an extra five bucks when I am there, I might go through it once. I can't see myself doing it more than once. I can't see myself wasting any time on it if the park is busy and I want to get everything done.
I want, worse than anything for the park, them to expand with a pathway connecting Firehawk and Windseeker behind Racer, and for them to add some rides and shops back there. Kings Island gets very busy sometimes. It needs to expand.
