What is Kings Island up to?

What do you think? The area being examined looks like an expansion of the park close to the new Windseeker ride and the Racer turnaround. There is a big anniversary coming up for the park...

Obviously this has nothing to do with SOB. Perhaps they just want to give fans something else to ponder the rest of the winter?

Looks to me like they're drawing squiggly lines. :)

I call Cedar Point my home park even though I live in the Chicago Suburbs.

It's an overhead view of Diamondback, silly.

Seriously, I can't even tell where that is...

Could be a haunt path... or it could be a picture of a bunny and a squirrel drawn by the 4 year old daughter of the guy pointing in the black and gray jacket... I really can't tell.

Well it's definitely near the Racer-turnaround area, and it looks to be a topography map of the area. They're definitely up to something, and with that big anniversary coming up I don't think anything can be ruled out.

I keep having visions of an expansion behind racer, connecting Windseeker to Firehawk, offering an area to build a new track for the car ride that was removed for Stunt Track, but I'm probably wrong. ;)

It either looks to me like a topography map (in which my visions have a chance to be correct), or a new Haunt path.

Maybe they are finally going to put the Rye Airplane Coaster's blueprints to good use. ;)

Does anyone really think a line that "unstraight" is a roller coaster? Seriously?

I was going to ask who said they thought it was a coaster, but then I started reading the Facebook comments. Egad.

I don't think the "plans" represent a coaster at all...however, it appears to be an expansion on which a future coaster could be built. At the very least, a significant change to the park, whether that means coaster or not, it seems logical to predict they may do something unique for the 40th anniversary.

I have to agree with Travis that those look very much like topo lines. Having no other information about those lines to work with, it means we could be looking at positive topography or negative topography. That is, the area enclosed by the lines could be a ravine or a ridge. From the shape of it, and being familiar with the terrain at KI, I would have to guess 'ravine'. So the question becomes, what's going in the ravine? And where is it?

OhioStater is right. The area shown is to the NE of the far Racer track turnaround. You can even see how the squiggly lines converge into a narrow pipe, which lines up with the service tunnel that passes under the track just before the split.

After looking at online USGS maps, though, those lines don't seem to have anything to do with the existing topography. So maybe it is a map of a foot path for a future haunt...
