Really - I've never seen a mother make a "show" out of breastfeeding. I know it happens and have rarely noticed it. I would be more concerned as the mother about breastfeeding in public at an amusement park, because of the type of people around. Roving groups of teenagers will react MUCH differently to the possibility of spotting a nipple than older guests (I hope..)

Brest feeding mothers should not just whip it out where they want. The should have consideration for other people. Definitely some people don't want to see that or their children to see that!

A breast and a penis are different things and that's a poor analogy. And like Jeff mentioned, someone peeing all over the place is different than a child breastfeeding. By law, they can just whip it out where they want, but I don't think that's what this woman did (nor do most women).

What this woman was doing wasn't sexual, but was an actual function of providing life and nourishment to a child. A guy coming by and saying "Nice Boob Lady!" is doing so with the intention of being sexual or inappropriate, where as a woman breastfeeding her child is not.

@super7: Are you suggesting moms should be forced to go to public restrooms to breast-feed? I don't see why a mother should have to take her infant into a germ-infested chamber where other people are evacuating their bowels, just to nourish her child.

I wonder if I called super7* a 'nice boob', if he'd get offended? :)

*IF* (huge 'if' there) a woman was actually being inappropriate in some way with her breastfeeding, then I think it's safe to say some other women would come along to correct her.

Life itself is a function of sexuality, but breastfeeding is a function of food. ;)

People scared of breasts deserve no consideration, especially if they're teaching their children that breastfeeding is dirty, immoral, etc.

I should not be surprised where this conversation went.

It is appropriate if my child is breastfeeding in public with his mother. It is inappropriate if I am breastfeeding in public with my child's mother.

I think when you involve the terms distance and accuracy, you pretty much hit inappropriate.
