I am going to PKI on a wednesday in mid July, how long will the lines probbly be for some of the better rides? Also, I am going to SFWoA on a Thursday and CP on a Friday and Saturday, how will those lines be??? Especially for MF X-Flight and FoF.

All i know is get to sfwoa in the mourning and run to x flight the lines are long for that you should hope they are running two trains.
Cedar point on the weekend ? In July ? you in for a wait on some of the major coasters. I recommend Gemini decent coaster fast lines. 15-20 minute wait. Weekdays at at SFWOA won't be a wait at all....well maybe for X flight , 1 Hour tops... I Just rode it last night . Its pretty darn cool ! *** This post was edited by Dennis on 6/9/2001. ***
On a weekday at PKI you can expect the waiting times to vary, depending on the weather, and other Cincinnati area events. Usually lines arent that bad on a weekday, but try and avoid a Friday or Monday and definantly the weeekends.

At KI, my home park, it's pretty much the same on every Wednesday of the year. It's pretty empty. You can get on Drop Zone in a half hour, Face Off in an hour (if you're lucky), Beast in about 30 mins, Son of Beast in under 30 mins, Vortex in 15 mins, and Racer is pretty much walk-on. I dunno about Flight of Fear though. Since they changed the restraints, the ride has become increasingly popular. It'll only take an hour at the most to get on FoF i think.

I am a roller coaster FIEND!
You are soooo screwed at CP. A Friday in July? Ha, you better clear your plans for Saturday as well, b/c there is no way you will get to ride everything. I was just at CP last Wednesday and we walked on everything! You really got to go before school lets out if you want short lines.

Mid-July... bring a friend that has a lot to talk about, because you're going to be standing around a lot in Ohio parks. With people coming from Detroit, Toledo, Cleveland, Akron, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, and everywhere in between, there are a lot of people visiting Ohio's parks in July.

Jeff is right, if you go to CP in mid-July don't expect a lot of rides on the coasters, the lines can get out of hand. Be sure to get on MF and Raptor early because the waits won't be less than an hour for the rest of the day.
I don't know why people say that you can't do everything at CP on a busy Sat.

I visited CP on the last Saturday of operation. It was 75 degrees outside and Halloweekends were occuring.

I rode all the coasters(minus kiddie) and I got two rides on Raptor, Mantis, Power Tower, Magnum and MF. I did all of this in a 12 hour period with enough time to stand in line for a buffet, rest, and play games.

How did I do it? I hit as many coaster as I could in the first hour it opened. I didn't even hit MF first because I didn't want to spoil the rest of the rides for the friend I was with. That doesn't mean you have to do the same. It should be even better when it opens at 10:00 AM. I visited it when it opened at 12:00 PM.

A great tip is to get in line for MF minutes before CP closes. They will let you ride regardless.

I'd say your probably pretty safe for PKI. I went on a weekend recently and didn't wait more than hour to hour and maybe fifteen min. on any ride except FOF. It was two hours.

I don't know about SFWoA

CP you'll probably still need two days. I'd say get there early both days. On the first day ride Raptor first and on the second run to MF first. These two ways will give you short waits for probably the longest lines later in the day. If you haven't ridden MF yet definately save it for the second day. Most of the other lines go rather fast, excpet Mantis, it's always long.

Try to get in line for the more popular rides at meal times at all the parks.

Hope I could help.
Mid-June to late-October is a big difference. I wouldn't count on being able to ride everything easily in mid-June. But I am basing this on past posts, not on personal experience.
Goonsta, of course you had a lot of time to do things the last week of operation! Those crowds are some of the smallest of the year! Mid-July crowds do not equal Mid-October crowds!

Yes, I think the issue is July and August. Remember that 90% of their annual attendance comes from mid-June to August. The before and after are the times us season pass holders have a good old time with frequent visits. The Friday nights during Halloweekends at CP are the best, no question about it. Steph and I go ever Friday during that time. I hear that Six Flags Geauga Lake and PKI have similarly light crowds.

Back to the topic, the peak of summer is rough. I don't think anyone is saying you can't do it all, but expect to be a little tired and expect to wait in line a lot. I've done every coaster at Cedar Point on a Saturday in July, but it took me until 8pm. That's a lot of waiting.

June isn't the peak of summer. I will be there in 11 days on the 22nd!!! That is CP, I am only worried a bit about CP because I don't know if they have twickets, where you come back the next day for cheaper than normal. Do they, CP, ???

It all comes down to getting to parks RIGHT when they open. I am the firmest believer in that. I have many rides of joy right as parks open.
