Pondering about Holiday World... / thank you!

^^^ Haha, love the ride op spiel!

My group stopped at KI on the way down Friday, and an attendant at the entrance to Firehawk heard us debating about the 45 minute wait. "It's awesome," he interjected. "Have you ridden it before?" We indicated that we had ridden it as X-Flight. "Oh, is that like this one?" Friend: "Uh, no, it *is* this one." Me: "It used to be green. That means we get to count it again." :)

The friendliness of the staff will never cease to amaze, and neither will the park's cleanliness.

All the coasters were running great, especially the Legend.

Holiday World once again went above and beyond the call of duty in everything they did to make the enthusiasts feel valued: the food, the entertainment, and even the accessibility of Will, Mrs. Koch, and the staff...everything was really pleasant.

Makes me glad I chose Holiday World over Cedar Point last weekend, despite the rave reviews coming from Coastermania.

Ride on.

Is there a way for us to use the ticket for Fall Affair at a discounted price to Fall Affair? The wife and I are strongly looking at that angle to return to Holiday World this year.

Sure thing... you just register as a season pass holder. That way you're only paying for the meal and ERT portion, and you can get in by whatever means you already have (in this case, a comp ticket).

I have been to holiday world several times but this was my first HWN. I'll I have to say is bravo to holiday world. The event far surpassed my expectations and I agree with other posters on how well legend was running...very smooth and quick.

^^That's good to know! I was wondering about that as well. I haven't been to the park in the fall and was thinking about going to the event anyway. :)

There is pretty much only one word that can describe this past weekend: ROCKIN!!!! :)

Ok, so I am too lazy to list everything. What more can other than I was blown away by the whole weekend. I have no complaints/nitpicks about the event (including the pizza which I thought was OK) other than it flew by too fast! My mind is still back on Wildebeast somewhere. ;)

Thank you Paula, Will, Mrs. Koch, all the HW and Lake Rudolph staff, and all my friends (old and new) for making this past weekend one of the best events/HW visits to date!

Also thanks to King's Island for an amazing, uncrowded day on Sunday! Good times! :)

Hmm. I'm thinking I may look into the Fall Affair this year. If it comes down to a choice between that and PPP, though, that's going to be a tough call.

I was just checking the date to make sure it doesn't fall on my high school reunion weekend OR PPP. It doesn't! Yay!

It should be doable, especially with the comp tix. :)

It is the same day as Running of the Bulls II though.

I also had a really awesome time on Friday. I'm glad to hear that all the coasters were in top form, because I'm not likely to get back up to that neck of the woods for another decade or two.

That said, I'll still take Phoenix or El Toro. The Voyage in pitch black was just a little bit too much for me after standing around in the heat all day. I would've liked to have a tiny bit of warning before I was violently jacked into the lap bar or the side of the train each time. ;) It was still a great ride and firmly planted in my #3 spot.

Andy, I hate that we didn't get more time to talk. I was looking around for you at one point, but you had moved on to another area.

That said, My 4 favorite things about Holiwood Nites (in no particular order):

1) Voyage Nite rides (I finally found my Voyage Tolerance and got some power riding in this past weekend)

2) Group Swapping with so many different groups of friends I don't normally get to hang with.

3) Briefly getting to say Hi to Andy and meet Mrs. Wong & Jr. Wong.

4) Finally, after nearly a decade, meeting Sean Flaharty. I still can't hang with his trips, though.

#2 for me is a mixed-blessing at best. At the end of HWN (and PPP), I typically end up thinking "wish I'd had more time to spend with friend X" or "geez, I thought friend Y was supposed to be here and didn't see them at all". It is great to jump from group to group so I get a chance to ride, and even just hang out with lots of different people - but the downside is you never get ENOUGH time...that's why the after-parties are such a big plus - for the meet-and-greets.

Aside from not hanging much with Andy (which was directly influenced by his only being there on Friday), this was the first event where I felt that I did get to spend quite a bit of time with everyone. Last HWN I did was almost like this, but because I hung out with my 'regulars' at SFStl and during the migration(s), I got to spend time at the park with others. That was a blast.

I'll second the after parties comment. Speaking of, I can't wait for PPP this year. Hopefully Moosh is going to make it this year. :)

LOL :) I'll try to be a little bit more conspicuous this year. Maybe I'll actually have to coordinate and and out my phone #.

LOL, I met Rob when he was still a teen in SoCal for Solace in 2005. Imagine my surprise at Enterprise Rent A Car when I'm talking to Joe and all of a sudden some strange person comes and puts their arm around me, and it's Rob, who wasn't supposed to be there.

I was in SoCal with Rob (and Corey, I think) in 2005. It seems like forever ago now. I remember that being the last time I was in Cali. I really miss Disneyland.

Yeah, I met him thru the rest of the entourage that knew him, and it was funny because afterward online, I could never remember who Rob was. I knew I met him, and I knew he was younger, but I had no Idea which person he was (I met a lot of people on that trip).
