Rhyming schema. Since theres only 3 lines, his follows the correct pattern (if a 4th line was added, then it would be fully correct), so my assessment isnt off at all as he was on right path. :)

why no Seuss haiku?

I like haikus on a boat.
I like haikus with a goat.
I would not, could not in a car.
I'd rather read them at a bar.

I purposely used "lost" in the last line, knowing it didn't rhyme.

Kind of like an anti-limerick? HAHA

I prefer limericks to haikus, actually. They have a rythem to them, and a rhyme scheme...and they're funny. Haikus don't have a flow to them, don't necessary have to rhyme, and I think they're not even meant to be written in english.
