Kennywood

Well, i've chosen to go to Kennywood. What should crowds on this thursday be like? What should each rides wait be. And most importantly, Will Thunderbolt be open? This is my favorite ride there. Also what are lines on Exterminator usually like?

Crowds shouldn't be that bad. I think the T'bolt's still down, and nobody knows for sure when it'll open.

I haven't been to the park since PR opened (ugh!), but before it did, Exterminator would often have the longest line in the park. Try to hit it early in the day.

Even though exterminator isn't the ride you think of when your talking about Kennywood, the crowds are usually long, hit it early in the day and be sure to go on "The Whip", it is one of the best flat rides around and is located right next to Exterminator
I was at the park Wed. Hit Phantom first, Exterminator second, and Pittfall third.

As for T-Bolt, it looked as if a LOT of work still needed to be done. At LEAST two weeks, if not more. Plus, it probably will need to test more than normal.

Honestly, if I was Kennywood, I would have the T-Bolt make a grand re-appearance in 2002, and not open it at all this season. I mean, by the time it does open, Labor Day wont be too far away.
Mongoose, why would they wait until next year. The one year Noah's Ark didn't open until August when they changed it. I am 99% sure they can open it by the middle of July. Half of July and all of August wouldn't be that bad for me.
I'm planning to go to Kennywood Park at the end of August. I would like to know how far of a drive it is from Cedar Point and what Thunderbolt & Phantoms Revenge is like. What's the drop like going into Thunderbolt? Could someone tell me what Kennywood Park is like, also what would the wait times be for Phantoms Revenge & Thunderbolt on a Saturday & the attandance on weekends.
Viper, the lines for PR on a Saturday will probably be about an hour to an hour and a half, since they still are only running one train. It is about 4 hours from KW to CP. If you do go, ride all of the coasters, they are all great. also ride Aero 360, Wipeout, Whip, Noah's Ark, and Old Mill. You should have time to ride everything though.

The Pens will win the Stanley Cup in 2002!
If you're into classic rides, don't miss the Roll-o-Plane, Kangaroo or Turtle, either.
