Vekoma Rides announced the addition of a new train type, using four seats across and lapbars for inverted and above-track designs.

I think this really stinks. In general, I prefer the Vekoma SLC's to the B&M inverteds (except Great Bear, love that one!). One of the things I really like is the 'out there' feel of 2 across seating. Plus, not as high percentage of empty seats on a train (a BIG problem with Six Flags B&M rides).
Vekoma has made some cool things in the last couple years, the smooth lapbar only family inverteds and the vest restrains, but this kinda stinks. I hope the 2 across will still be available.

I agree, especially since on 2 across, everyone gets an outside seat/view. I've never been on a Deja Vu with that kind of 4 across seating, but I think they intended it to be similar with nobody getting a real "inside seat". I hope they continue to use the lap-bar only trains like the ones at Morey's as I have heard good things about them. Go figure the year that opens with the new trains is the year I am out in the midwest, I want to check it out when I make it back.

Yeah, the new trains on Nor'Easter are a marginal improvement. They still bounce between the rails and shake your body, but it's nice not having your head bashed.
Ah ok, yeah I have not heard much about them, but I would see this as like you said a marginal improvement. I have more of a pain tolerance in certain areas then others, and this sounds like it makes it more like riding a rough woody then a "hang and bang".

- The new trains on Great Nor'Easter, while eliminating the head banging, can't make up for the fact that SLCs just ride rough and generally suck balls. In fact, without being bludgeoned the entire ride, you're free to realize how bad the ride itself actually is.
.
Hmm.. Gonch is apparently onto the fact that I have grown bored of clicking his linkbacks that he now includes the text of said linkbacks..
Well played sir.. well played.

I actually think the SLC layout is really solid. Gonch, do you think the ride itself sucks balls, or is it the way the trains track that makes it suck balls?
The ride it gives sucks. The layout is fine.

I still prefer the quotes in the context of their original threads to give added perspective, but for the sake of brevity, this will do.
Gonch, I agree. I don't think there is anything that Vekoma can do to make their rides NOT suck balls unless they can figure out a way to make the rides SMOOTHER. If I want a brain aneurysm, I can bang my head against a wall a hundred times. I don't need to waste gas money and time to ride one of those horrendous POS's.
