The Roller coaster that ended your coaster phobia.

Corkscrew @ Alton Towers, but I still nearly backed out of oblivion, so my true fear conquerer was oblivion, as i've never had butterflies on any coaster since, I miss that feeling though!!:(

Yesterday on my first Ride ever on Millenium Force that ended my coaster phobia!

The old Laser Loop at Kennywood . . .

I rode the Dipper, Jackrabbit and Racer at Kennywood, but then I went through a phase where I didn't like coasters. (I think it was the mad airtime in from the back seat on the Jackrabbit's double dip that scared the crap out of me).

But a few years later I went on the Laser Loop because I didn't want to be shown up by a girl! :)

Some people don't even GET scared of roller coasters the first time they ride em. My friend Claire, who had never gone on a roller coaster before in her life, went on every coaster at King's Island and Cedar Point the first time we ever took her there. Even though I was scared by the Millenium Force, I knew I had to ride it, because I couldn't let her, being a first time rider and a girl, look better than macho Jeremy. It just goes to shoe you that some people have no fear!

Magnum XL-200 on my first annual Cedar Point adventure with my friend Mike near the closing of summer 99'. I knew it would end soon, for it was just when I could get to a Theme Park next. Low and behold it happened and I have loved coasters ever since.

I was afraid of anything bigger than the Little Dipper at Kiddyland in IL. then I went on the Wabash Cannonball at Opryland(sp?) and got over my fear of coasters. but when I went home to SFGAm it took a lot of courage to get on the coasters.

Gemini at Cedar Point.

Prior to that, I was so scared to go on anything even remotely high (this was 1985). Oddly enough, I would go on Demon Drop, but not Gemini. Finally, my sister kept nagging me, telling me how awesome Gemini was. I was terrified, but I went on it anyway. After that ride, I was hooked. I still got scared of a few coasters, but I wasn't phobic, and I'd ride anything. I was very nervous for Magnum the year it opened, but I loved it. Same with Mean Streak.

The last coaster I remember being nervous (scared nervous, not excited nervous) was S:ROS (SFDL) in 1999. After that ride, I've only been excited to ride new rides, not scared. I didn't even think about MF being so high..I was too pumped up to even be remotely scared of it. However...if I ever get a chance to ride X, I forsee some fear there. that first drop looks like it may be the scariest thing in coasters. (The Gio tilt coaster would be pretty terrifying too...but I'd be first in line!)

The coaster that ended my phobia was The Anaconda at PKD. After that I loved rollercoasters!

The coaster which broke my fear was incidently my first coaster ever. It was Montu and Busch Gardens Tampa. I was dragged onto it by a bunch of my friends on our 8th grade trip (this was almost 4 years ago) and I was hooked. They made me ride in the front row my first ride and was terrified, but after I got off, we rode it 8 straight times before we had to go home.

The rollercoaster that cured my fear was Shockwave at SFGAm. I wanted to leave the line but my big-boneded friend wouldn't let me out of the line. I didn't even notice the head-banging problem the first time I went on it.
