Mine was Avalance Run at Cedar Point. This was later turned into Disaster Transport. Thank goodness for those starter coasters. I still have fun riding the Iron Dragon, especially when they have really short lines.

Never had a phobia, but I started my coaster-riding hobby on Iron Dragon at the age of 7.

Tennessee Tornado. I had ridden Rebel Yell at PKD once and was terrified. Riding the Tornado made me relax and enjoy the experience which has lead to my obsession. Ride on.

I think that you can't have enough "starter" or junior coasters for kids. I hate it when people complain that their park got a "kiddie" coaster instead of a big one. You gotta think about all the 5, 6, and 7 year olds who go to the parks each year. Without these, they wouldn't be able to ride anything at all!

Mine was Shock Wave at Six Flags Over Texas. I was 9 years old.

Alpengeist was my first looping coaster and thus broke my fear of coasters and loopers in general.

my first ride was the Conneaut Lake Park Blue Streak, that got me started, but i still wouldnt ride the big ones. I talked myself into riding Batman the Ride at SFMM a few years ago and the rest was history!

LOL! I guess I get to hop on the Vortex trend here. It was my first major looping rollercoaster. The only other coaster before it was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which by no means cured me of my fear of coasters.

Welcome to Deja Vu...home of the world wide wait.

I was afraid of rollercoasters until about four years ago. I was with a few friends at The Great Escape and one of them suggested going on The Comet. We all went on it assuming that everyone else wanted to go on it. None of us wanted to be the only one to back out. It turns out that none of us wanted to go on it in the first place. But we all enjoyed it so much that we jumped right back into line. The real key to ending my fear was riding without holding on for dear life. That day I rode The Comet with my hands in the air and from that ride on I was hooked.
I have loved rollercoasters since. Every summer I try to ride The Comet as often as possible. Its always to coaster that I go back to if I get spooked by another ride.
