Best Water Parks (as chosen by MSN)

Yep, those wild and crazy folks from MSN are back at it again. This time they pick the 15 best water parks... well, actually the link on their homepage says "15 best water parks in the US." Then the title of the article says "Top US Water Parks." Then the article says "We found 15 water parks in your backyard."

Anyway, a list that names WWK @ Geauga Lake third and doesn't mention Schlitterbahn except as another place you might want to check out, might be a bit lacking in the credibility department.

Geauga Lake does have a very good water park, but yeah, I don't know how you could not mention Schlitterbahn.

Apparently many records were shattered at Waterpark of America that we did not know about. MSN claims that

The highlight is its mile-long indoor Whitewater Family Raft Ride, which propels riders over a river suspended 10 stories above the carsand trucks zipping along Interstate 494.

Does this attraction exist anywhere on earth? No. 10 stories above I 494? Where did they get this info?

Strange that Water Country isn't on the list. Or The Beach Waterpark...

You mean Ocean Breeze Waterpark in Va Beach? Yeah that place is pretty cool.. Not as large as some on that list though.

Im more surprised no Disney water park made the list.

No Sir. I mean The Beach water park in OH, just across the highway from Kings Island. I haven't been there yet, but all I hear about the place is positive.

I hear the opposite. I hear that there's little point given KI's extensive water park.

From the park's website.

I realize that now, and I hate how some water parks make up stats to make them look better. There's no slide over 5,281 feet long anywhere.

Ok the park they mentioned in Mississippi is awful and I mean awful. Im convinced they wrote the names of ever water park in the country and then picked them out of a hat and then copied and pasted stuff off each of the parks websites

The "mile long" claim is not about a slide, it's about their lazy river.

a direct quote from their website:

America's longest indoor family raft ride, which is ten stories tall and over a mile long

Even if it were about a lazy river, that's something to expect at a huge outdoor water park like Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, and not at an indoor facility.

Don't shoot the messenger. I'm merely pointing out what attraction they're referring to. I'm not saying the claim is true.

When it comes to these so-called lists, I have to wonder if there was some "deal" between the parks and MSN as to who gets on the list and who doesn't. Not too mention what rank they appear on the list.

I kinda suspect that is the case with Forbes Magazine and their "city" lists ( example..top 10 cities who have the most jobs ). Its usually the same cities everytime that make the list whether its good ( Charlotte, Indianapolis, Denver, Las Vegas, Austin, Salt Lake City, Raleigh ) or bad ( Detroit, Buffalo, Cleveland, Virginia Beach, St. Louis, Baltimore ).

I know. It'd be awesome if it were true, then it'd be worthy of a top 15 spot!
